My dad wants to know why I think it's such a good idea for me to spend 50$ on a knife. So tell me is the Izula really so good? and why? BTW I am 15yo

in short yes it is. great warranty, great size, and it just plain works.

It is a good knife. It's made well, by a company that offers the best guarantee in the business. You can buy other, cheaper knives, and when they break, you can go buy another cheap knife. And another. And another. And another. All the sudden, you spent what you could have bought 2 Izulas for. If your Izula breaks, contact ESEE and get it replaced IMMEDIATELY. Its great design, done by some guys that know what a knife supposed to do, made by a company that knows how a knife is supposed to be made.
ESEE knives are a knife for life. I hope this helps you out. Moose

1. unbeatable guarantee.
2.Awesome customer service.
3. Tough, strong SHARP knife with a great sheath.

All you can ask for in a knife is that it works..over and over and over. And that it is comfortable while working. Esee knives do that. Is it worth 50 dollars? That depends. Are you going to relie on this knife for years to come or is it going to be something that sits in a draw and does no more than sharpen hot dog roasting sticks? I am serious. If it is the first buy a good knife, use it appreciate it and enjoy it. If you are going to do the second there are many decent knives for much less. (Look at Buck and CRKT for small cheaper knives.)

This is just my opinion. And it is worth less than you paid for it.

You get what you pay for, and for the Izula 50 bucks is a steal.(By the way I highly recommend getting the scales!)

If you are the kind of 15 year old like I was that lost, misplaced or destroyed more knives than I care to think about, then a $10 mora is a great knife. If you are looking for a knife to carry everywhere (including places you shouldn't) then again, get something cheaper. if you know what you like, and what you want from a knife and will take care of it, then yes an izula is a very good knife. I've paid more for less knife, that is for sure. all depends on what you are looking for. Go ahead and show your dad the warranty, maybe that's what he wants to know?

It is just a great knife.

The shape is well thought out and ergonomic. It is a great size to carry every day as well (where legal). It's light, but strong. It holds a great edge, and is easy to sharpen.

It's versatile. You can wear it on your neck, on your belt, put it in your pocket, hell even your boot if that's your thing. You can use it bare, wrap the handle to whatever color combo you choose, or even put scales on it.

It has the best warranty you will probably any find on any sort of product, anywhere (not just knives), and is made by good honest people, in the USA.

It's cool looking, too.

What more could you ask for in an all around everyday knife? The only thing I could think of is that one might prefer a thinner blade for slicing.

We all talk about an expensive hard use folder, such as the Hinerer XM-18. Bottom line is the Izula will do a better job, and hold up to more abuse, than a "hard use" folder at 8x the price.

Does Dolly Parton sleep on her back? Heck yes it's a good knife.

Consider this, with the quality of the Izula (or any ESEE Knife) matched with the lifetime warranty, you could potentially make that $50 knife last you the rest of your life.

Sure you can make some cheap knife last you forever too, but you won't be able to use it if you want it to last. You can USE the heck out of the Izula without worrying about it.

have dad buy you a 2$ gas staton folder, then cut up an 8' 2x4. take him the broken pieces, explain that a two dollar knife lasted you an hour. that's 48 bucks a day! the izula will last at least two days, so it's obvious what the better deal is.

you can spend a lot less, or you can spend a lot more.

the ESEE knives in general seem to be a great value for the money. the Izula is compact enough for EDC yet the work i see some people doing wih it is often done with much larger knives.

i don't have one yet, but i'm still planning on getting one, along wth an aftermarket kydex sheath and the scales, so that's $45 for the knife, $19 for the scales and probably $15 or $20 for the sheath.

as long as you don't lose it or get it stolen, any of the ESEEs, or many of the other quality knives will still be in use 25 years or more from now. a cheap knife from Wal-Mart may be broken or discarded.

i'm a big fan of "buy quality, cry once" because the quality items tend to last a long time and provide satisfaction when using them. "quality" is not the same thing as "expensive" as some quality stuff is inexpensive and some junk is very costly.

The Izula is worth every penny.
I'm not saying that as an ESEE fan, I'm saying that as someone who has bought too many cheap knives not worth the money I paid for.

$50 is not much to spend on a knife that you can bet your life on when the chips are down.
On some forums, $50 is not much to spend on a knife - they may spend more on polishing compound in a month. :-)

Because it's made from quality materials from a good company that knows how to work the steel. Takes and holds a good edge and is easy to sharpen by hand. If you are responcible with your things, treat them right and use them where allowed, I think the Izula is a fine blade for someone.

Got my first fixed blade when I was 13 or 14. It was a Western L48ABG 4" hunting knife. Served me well for many a year. Got it in trade for working at a thrift store. Made my own leather sheath for it. Lost it on a scout trip when I was 17 (I think it was stolen) and replaced it a few years ago. What ever you get, hold on to it. Keep it safe and don't let others your age play with it. They are likely to steal it or break it out of spite.

$50 is worth it for the Izula. The problem is, you won't want to stop at the Izula... you'll end up getting 3 or 4 ESEE knives. Maybe your dad knows that. :D

the warranty alone speaks for its self..i dont own a izula YET, but i have spent so much money on shitty flea market knives that last about a month if that, and will never hold an edge again so i have to toss them..bought the ESEE 3 and dont need to buy another knife again if i didnt want to..will last a life time..as will the izula..not only for the Quality but the warranty will back it up if anything were to happen to it.

The Izula is an excellent knife, fits right in a pocket and cuts anything you ask it to. You can usually find them for less, I got mine for $39 without the kit. Paracord wrap the handle if you don't want to spend money on the scales.
