Is the Rat 1/2 Japanese Aus-8?

I recently purchased a second Rat 1 and was wondering if the Aus-8 they used was Japanese imported or Taiwanese made.
Any insight would be helpful, thanks.

All Aus8 is made only by Aichi Steel Co. Japan. Taiwan has steel mills but they don't produce
any cutlery grade steel preferred by knife companies.
