Is the TiLT carbidized?

Judging by the pictures the tilt is not carbidized.

But if this is the all black version than to my knowledge there is dlc on the lockface. Therefor adding a little wear resistance on the lock face.

my 0300 has dlc on the lock face and is slowly wearing off, but not nearly as bad as carburizing.

I find the dlc works well with stickiness and to prevent lock damage/deformation.

Very interesting.

I love the bearings too. Brilliant stuff, and strong too. In New York City, pretty much everything except a SAK is a gravity knife, but fortunately most cops don't care about that nonsense and just look at size.

Anyway, I don't know WHAT went on back there with the CRK craziness... Totally out of place and just a bit psychotic. Far as I've been told, the 0560, 0550, and Tilt have carbidized lock faces.

sorry about that, it gets hectic anytime CRK is mentioned in a different way. I didn't mean to offend anyone in this thread, I was just being attacked by my usual stalker :D

if the pics are too big, let me know Ill edit these out so it doesn't take people forever to scroll. I figured I would repost the large pics for wolf since he said he couldn't view the larger image

Pic in hand was taken [at night] but my ceiling light uses daytime lights, the "warmer" one on its side was taken with a warm tinted flashlight [preon 2 warm limited run] that looks incandescent, the whiter variant was taken with a neutral white quark aa2.

When looking at the tang, you can see part of it is "lighter" that is the part that has worn away/worn down from my uses.

Interesting. :)A little off topic but what's a good lube for this style of bearing system? I plan to own a kvt knife system in the near future and I'm not familiar with this particular opening system as I own manual knives. Sorry for hijacking Heiheit.

Awesome, Thanks for the enlarged photo. I guess in the smaller picture I couldn't see. I was wrong :D

I do however want to say it seems weird that they only carbidized part of the lock face instead of the whole lock face.

I wonder why that is?

Maybe because the blade tang only contacts part of the lockface? Probably wrong since I missed out on the tilt and haven't seen one up close.
