C'mon.....don't hold back gang........

CRK Rules in my book.....at SHOTSHOW I probably spent more time at the CRK booth than any other manuafacturer there.....Why? Because they do not mind giving you the "time of day" and getting to know there dealers in a personable way.......not to mention I was slobbering all over the Decorated Sebs & Umfaan's, and of course the new...... Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm-Nandi!

About the only time I get upset on these forums is when I see "information" on BF that goes against everything I know about a person or in this case a product and a group of people who make it.

Any one who has spent any time at all with Chris, Anne or any of the gang at CRK knows the truth and the high quality of people involved with CRK. If I read anything contrary to my experience with the group, it is easy to realize that the writer is badly mistaken and it makes me wonder about the rest of the stuff that they post and / or what they are trying to accomplish.

I agree. My dealings with Chris and Anne have always been extremely satisfying and gratifying.

I sent back a wood inlay Seb because I didn't like the grain on the wood. Instead of telling me where exactly to go to fly my kite, they replaced the inlay on one side.

I returned a Classic Seb due to a small grinding defect on one edge. Instead of regrinding it, they replaced the blade.

CRK is a class act, with hundreds of fervent supporters.

Speaking of class act, I thought C4's apology was one as well. Good job, C4!!

Well, got to go and examine my CR knives with a microscope to see if I can find any more flaws...

Walt,

If you could have heard the the genuine sincerity in Chris Reeves explanation of what had happened, you would fully understand how humbled I actually was...

I think that most people who believe that trial by internet ain't so bad have never been trialed by internet. All's well that ends well is nice but this trial could have dragged on and on if it hadn't been for serendipity. And btw, I'm not blaming anybody, I'm just saying that before you jump on the nattering nabob of negativity bandwagon, think twice, post once.

Trial by internet? Didn't know one was going on. The Lenny thread seemed to me simply to be a bunch of customers voicing an opinion on a warranty issue.

For those, like me, who choose [and yes, it is a choice] to do business with the public, customers are, and should be, are harshest critic. Without customers there is no business.

I think CRK makes a very good knife in the Sebenza. I carry one, and use it hard. Customers who never speak out about a product, whether good or bad, never provide input into problems, never provide feedback on what works and what does not.

CRK has many customers who are glad CRK makes the knives it does, as is obvious from the traffic on this forum. Those customers talk about their knives, show their knives to others [who then become customers], and use their knives.

Question is, would a company rather have people speaking out about the product, or no mention of the product at all?

Good luck CRK, may your customers always use and appreciate your product.

straightblastpfs, that was a good post.

In my job, I support/supervise from 7-17 technicians. I welcome their constructive criticism. It enables me to serve them better.

The techs & I support app. 600 customers who pay my company a lot of money to keep them operational. I welcome our customers criticism, constructive or not. It enables The techs & I to serve them better.

The customers and/or techs I worry about, are the ones that keep their mouths shut. Inevitably, they are the customers and/or techs that we lose.

The 'Trial by Internet' term was popularized, if not coined, by the late, lamented, James K Mattis. He pointed out that 'justice' was simply not possible due to the very artificial nature of the internet.

Remember, all non verbal communication is removed. Frequently people post information, but inadvertantly or purposely either fail to include or exaggerate data. Objectivity is rare, if present at all. Misunderstandings abound, and frequently tempers flare. Therefore, TBI is simply not useful in evaluating a situation.

This is not to say that customers, satisfied or not, should not express their opinions. They should, and they do. It is when others generalize from one datum, and offer general criticism without objective evidence, and act in the other ways mentioned above, that TBI begins.

That a satisfactory resolution was reached in the repair matter was due to two phone calls made by Mr. Reeve. Not because of TBI.

Comments, criticisms, or objections as always, welcome.

Oh (he said smilingly, clutching his new digital camera), just in case you missed this pic on the general forum, here are some CR knives owned by a VERY satisfied customer.

I will not provide a long boring description of the knives, except to note that the decorated Umfaan on the bottom left is the one I received in exchange for the famous 'blue-gray' circles Umfaan owned at one time by Pres Rixey, and now owned by James Segura, I believe.

I disavow any knowledge of how the black Robar coated Seb, fifth from the top on the left, got into my collection. My best guess is that some despicable degenerate dropped it in my yard, and my 9 yo. son picked it up and brought it in the house, unaware that it is an abomination.

Further, I apologize for the Mad Dog logo which keeps popping up in my pictures. BAD DOG!! Well, I need a white background for the pics, and my kid's t-shirt was there, so....

Certified steel snob!

Chris and Anne, as well as the hand full of people who work their shop, are just "different" and in a class by themselves.
I have spoken to both Anne and Chris on the phone and enjoyed wonderful conversations.
I personalized my trio by having my name engraved on each. This happened just before my divorce. Anne understood. That will always be rememered.
See, there's a story behind my modest collection. And, as always, CRK's dedication to extreme quality and customer satisfaction.

Trial by internet?
It is timely.
I blew the whistle on Earl Stewart. I liked Earl, but things were not right.
Now, we all know that, but I was kicked off of the forums for my trouble at the time.
I should admit I was a bit strident about it.

Respectfully, I beg to differ with Anne. . . she is superhuman...ly patient!

Fantastic knives! Best I have have ever owned. Thank you CRK.

Well, i've been a long time reader and occasional poster, but i felt it was time to step up my involvement here, since i just traded for a large sebenza....

I can hardly wait for it to arrive, especially since it's the first one i've ever seen in person!! However, i'm confident that i'll be pleased, especially after reading Anne's post. Congrats Anne, i don't think i could do your job.

And by the way.... Walt? I'm pretty sure they lock you away for problems of that size...... Just to check.... you are aware that you own SIXTEEN (!!!!) sebenzas?

James Healy. Well, I was just a little concerned, but then I read on this forum where a person has three dozen CR knives.

I now sleep soundly at night!
