Is the ZDP Delica a limited run?

Sal, do you have any first hand comparisons on 154V vs S30V? lately 154V has been garnering a lot of attention....and S30V is now losing its "magic". I know some knifemakers are even saying that bg42 is "better" than S30V....any views?

BTW, will the Endura be in a ZDP189 configuration? Cos I prefer the Endura than Delican in that configuration, altho the Calypso is my all-time fav...I sold mine cos I couldn't stand the burgundy handles.....to me, the grey handles were the all-time best.

Also, will the Lum Chinese be in ZDP189? Can you make it a ti-framelock please?

154V is a good steel, tested well on the CATRA, but not to S30V results. It does polish up much better so if "looks" are an issue, it's probably better than S30V.

I've always liked B-42. Chris Reeve used it quite and we've had many chats about it. It always tested well in CATRA tests. Ususally pretty close to S30V. Better, IMO, at corrosion resistance, IMO, then either 154V or S30V, but many have differing opinions there. It is a "mutha" to grind and machine.

We're planning Endura's in ZDP later this year and more Delica's as well, but different colors than used previously.

There is a distributor that has ordered ZDP Calypso jr's. in black FRN, so they should be available tghrough them later this year.

Also, Once the Caly3 is out and prov en (in the real world market), we plan an FRN version which will probably play with different steels.

There is a Caly3 being tooled for Carbon fiber scales and ZDP blades.

We do have a Lum Chinese in ZDP in the works, but it will be the same tooling as the original so it won't be a Reeve integral lock.

We probably ought to make something with a Reeve Integral Lock, not sure what to use, or to create a new design? Endura maybe?

Some of those prospects are REALLY exciting to read about. I have found my Caly Jr. ZDP to be one of my favorite Sydies due to its size, steel and its extreme lightness. So I am looking foward to carrying a Caly3 in FRN. I would love to have a heavy G10 Caly3 for my main EDC with a light FRN backup, sounds perfect for my daily EDC:thumbup:
Can anyone send me a link to the distributor that will have the black Caly ZDPs?

Will these be solid or laminated blades Sal?

A frame lock Military would be awesome.

The black FRN ZDP Calypso jr's. will be laminated. Same knife as the burgundy version, but black. They only ordered a limited run, but they do have the option to reorder if they care to.

I do love those blue handles on the ZDP delicas. I think it attracted many people to the knife. Great color! :)
