Is the ZT 301-302 Too Heavy For EDC?

The ZT is heavy.. But its meant to be... IT was just a bit too large for out of work carry for me.. And not as practical in home.. Its really one of the best knives in its class.. Add a little extra tension to the lock bar and you will be as solid as a strider.. Just be prepared to lose the whole pocket..

...I've been looking at the 0300 compared to the 0301/2 and can't see much difference. There seems to be a little more belly on the 0301/2 and it's weight .6 oz more (due to what appears to be a thicker blade).

The 0301/2 also have the stripes on the blade and non-black scale colors. Is that the only differences? How does the A/O behave on these big boys?

The only difference is the all black colors of the 0300. It's the same knife as the 0301,2.

Didn't know that NDJeep. I was going by the weight listed on the Zero Tolerance section of Kershaw's site. The blades of the 301/2 did look a bit beefier and I figured that's where that 1/2 oz was at?

You can't tell unless you have them on the counter though right?

I like the 0300 a lot and might get it. What did you mean trimcut123 - "Add a little extra tension to the lock bar and you will be as solid as a strider"

Sorry I don't know what that means or infers about the difference between this and a Strider folding knife?

Not sure whats up with the Kershaw website site weight discrepancy but on this site they are listed at the same, 8oz. Also has some great ZT pics to enjoy...:D

What annoys me most about your post is the part about the cargo shorts. Its 33 degrees here in NJ this morning, but they say it will hit the 50's today....:D

It wasn't much different here Friday 34 for a low and 55 for a high. What can I say, I like shorts.

It's colder where I live PG5768 and I wear shorts 365 days a year except I put jeans on to go to the store in the winter. When I get home I slip back into my "uniform" - shorts and a HI shirt! :D

I had a student like that--hated hot weather, and wore shorts about every day of the year (except when going to work, I guess). It did get in the mid-50's here today, but I need another +20 degrees to go for the short pants. Looking forward!

Pretty much the same here cziv, except for the HI shirt.

Nothing like a silk HI shirt for comfort. A black "wife-beater" works well too!
