Is there a better $25 knife on the planet than the RAT-1

Kershaw Chill, Kabar Dozier Folding Hunter, Buck Vantage Select are all about that price or less. I like them all.
 
I got my Rat 1 a couple months ago and have been using it a lot along with a Military, zt 801 and Para 2. It does many things better than the others, has great ergs, and is easy to sharpen. Wish I had gotten one much sooner- great blade! :thumbup:
 
I've kind of turned against the RAT-1 after having to opportunity to fondle the one I bought for a friend. Something about the ergos don't work for me, but to each their own. I much prefer the Buck Vantage, although the Enlan EL-02B is also an excellent sub-$25 knife.

If you're good with the black handle then check on the website named after a large river in South America, they're usually about $26 shipped. (price can vary slightly)
 
I think the Rat 1 is a great value. But for some reason it just doesn't fit me. I've cut the end of my thumb twice while closing mine. And now it just sits in the drawer. I haven't cut myself with the Rat 2 yet though so it gets some pocket time.
 
Along with giving out a WOW to the Rat-1, I would give a WOW out to both the Joe Pardue Utilitac II, and the Kershaw Tremor. They are all winners in their class at less than $30.00.
 
I loved my Rat-1, I didn't have time to put it through its paces sadly. I lost it shortly after I got it for my birthday this year. It's around my place somewhere but just can't find it.
 
Bought my first one the other day. I have a lot of beater knives in this price range and this one is better than some of my knives that cost 2 or even 3 times as much. I bought 4 more in different colors this morning so I have one for every day of the week. :p
 
The RAT II is the same as its bigger brother mentioned by the OP, that said, as much as I like the RAT folders, a new folder from the very same factory where the RAT knives are made, has reared its beautiful head. A sub $30.00 street priced folder doesn't get any better than this....




 
I checked on that river site. $26.73 for the Rat 1. $32.96 for the Tenacious. I'm just sayin'...............
