Is there a chance for DODO comeback?

Oh yes most definitely!! I would love to have another Dodo model. However the last two Sprint Runs were only available in plain edge. Please I would like to see the Dodo brought back in Spyderedge again. There is no reason why they couldn't at least do 25% of a Sprint Run in Spyderedge. The Dodo was a great model in SE.

OH Brother you've hit that nail directly on the head. I'll go one further than that>> I consider the Dodo model the "Rolls Royce" of box cutters :cool:. Also the Dodo model is one Spyder that on many occasions I've said that I would like to see made in a larger scale version. Oh how I would love a bigger/wider version of the Dodo model. That would be a great model for anyone in the fishing industry or for any type of hard work.

I've also considered the Dodo to be an ideal EDC blade for places here in the USA that have draconian, super strict, UN-Constitutional knife laws. Because the length of that blade would be legal for almost anywhere here in the USA. My very biggest regret ever trading knives is when I traded my full Spyderedged, 2003 era Dodo. Because I've never been able to get one back yet. But the Dodo in a larger scale especially in Spyderedge would be a very versatile tool IMO.

But, I'll take a stab at it.

Pretty sure it's when you wear full face paint, full warrior garb of your choosing (of course), and you catch the box off guard before cutting.

You could try sneaking up behind the box slowly and stealthy, but as many readers here already know, boxes can get that weird sense that someone is starring them down, and immediately they'll take up a defensive posture!

So instead (if your agility is good), I highly recommend a full on sprint run!
 
chris_p_bacon,you picked this one up with a good dose of humor,i like it!but it won't change my opinion about the Dodo,i had all 3 (blue,orange and cf) just to collect but i really disliked them so i sold them muy rapido!all the best!
 
The secondary market for the Dodo is too extreme. I hope there is a new Dodo in the near future. Some of us missed the originals and are ready for Dodo 2.0
 
how do you sharpen a knife like that? cool design. looks like a nightmare to maintain

I did an experiment with my 2003 era Blue PE Dodo. I used it as my main EDC for an entire week and I was very surprised at how good it was for most general cutting chores. It's truly a misunderstood design and that little blade is more capable than what I originally thought.

I later found out that the Spyderedged version had more versatility that the PE version did. Like an idiot I traded my SE version of the Dodo model and I've yet to find another one at a reasonable price. So a Sprint Run in both PE & SE would just be great IMO.

Like many other Spyderco models with curved blades it does seem like the Spyderedge offers some advantages.
