I bought my girlfriend a CQC-13, and she loves it. I played with it for a little while, and out of all the Emerson's I have owned in the past, I can say that this one cuts like a son of a buck. Unfortunately, you can't rely on one knife being the only good cutter in your company's entire line. The liner however sucks. It holds firm right now, but everytime she waves it out to hand to me when I need a knife in a pinch (and I was stupid enough not to carry one) I look at the liner and cringe. I think it is not going to hold in the long run. Now on the other side, I have a friend that bought a spec-war a long time ago, and he treats it like crap, and beats it like he hates it. It takes it and never fails. He handed it to me to sharpen for him one time, and I could see that he beat on it. The edge on the blade was rusted. The black finish was scratched badly. The handles, although in tact were obviously used well, and you could tell the butt was used for impacts. There was a bit of side to side wobble. I took it apart, cleaned it up, and sharpened the blade. All, but the asthetics were fixed. I would like to say that all the Emersons out there were this good, but who knows. I am still not a big fan, but they could be as tough as they advertize.
