LOL! for sure, OCD was my first thought.

The obsession is always thinking about knives .... compulsions include repetitive handling and flicking, frequent sharpening.

I'm rather fond of "machairology" myself. I first chanced upon that word a few years ago in a book by Abel Domenech, an Argentinian knife collector that puts together some very nice books.

However, I've been called different names. For example, at a party yesterday, somebody yelled at me "Hey, Mr. blade dude" because he wanted to borrow my RAT-3 to cut limes.

Well, Pipe afficianados suffer from PAD (Pipe Acquisition Disorder, TAD (Tobacco AD) and CAD (Cob AD).

So why can't we suffer from KAD - Knife Acquisition Disorder?
