Is there a stiffer, better clip for the Rukus?

My EDC is a 610 Rukus. It's an awesome knife. My issue with it is the clip. It's flimsy and doesn't hold very well. It occasionally catches on a string from a jacket and pulls out of my pocket. I've found it dangling several times, so it's not going to be long before I lose it.

Does Benchmade make a stiffer clip that will fit on the Rukus.

You might consider a custom clip with thicker material. I'm sure someone around here can make you one. I have the same trouble with those deep carry clips. To be honest, I have no need currently for any deep carry clips on any knives I use, they serve their intended purpose, but they have too much lateral sway, especially the one on the 610/615. I have a 610 original and a couple LE 610, and I cannot carry any of them because the clip just doesn't work for me. If you find something, let me know I'd be interested in a solution too. Seatbelts also snag the knife out of your pocket

Same problem for me, I love my 610 Ruckus but the darn clip is terrible. I have researched this previously and have found two solutions but have yet to execute.

1.) A certian .com pertaining to buying kits and parts, has a shiney stainless steel pocket clip that will supposedly fit a Ruckus. Problem is it's shiny stainless steel that would look terrible on my Ruckus.

2.) David Brown owns (or at least did at the time I talked to him) a Ruckus and can make a kydex belt sheath for it, at a fair price. I have failed to execute this only because I am still on the search for a leather bender that has one and can make me one.

I might add that one could ship thier Ruckus to most any sheath maker here on BF and get a stellar custom sheath for a decent cost, as much as I do not like belt carry for anything but a fixed blade I do think the Ruckus would best served by a belt sheath.

If you find a custom clip maker that has a solution please pass on the info.

I've always said the 610 is too large for the pocket...heck they called the 615 a "Mini", and even that's too large. Yet in my hand, both feel great and are great slicers. I never did it back then, but the idea of a belt/sheath really does sound like a plan. Hope you find a better clip, that was always the loudest complaint.

I did ask a knife maker if he could design a stiffer clip. I think the problem is the long groove cut into the clip to provide access to the mounting screws, making the key part of the clip two long, thin strips rather than one wide solid clip. That groove doesn't have to be that long. Or maybe just a thicker gage steel/ti would work. Or maybe a stiffening filler piece could be installed.

[EDIT: No luck. Seems that this clip has stumped many.]

Still love this knife. Here's one of my unused Rukuses that shows the clip.

I replaced mine w/ a Bradley Mayhem clip (believe BM has another model that uses the same clip). Screws don't line up 100% so there's only one holding it, but it does fit the milled part of the handle. It's way more secure than the standard clip.
