Is There A Traditional Grail Knife? If So, What's Yours?

My grail at the moment would be a 2013 GEC SFO 85 Jack EO in Ivory bone. Don't know why I skipped buying this one at the time, but alas I did.

I have 2 of Todd's slip joints and I don't think you can find anything better for the $.
I'm a picky guy when it comes to quality fit and finish and I cant find a single thing to complain about on either of my knives.
Todd spent quite a bit of time with me on the phone and email going over specifics for my knives and had them delivered within 2 weeks. Best customer service and best $750 I've ever spent!
I carry and use them like any of my others and they are anything but fragile. The knife for sale with he "chips/dings" must have been used hard, neglected and abused, or just had a flaw in the material. Of the 1000 + he has made, this is the first I've heard of with damaged covers.
I'm sure you would be happy with most any custom slip joint from any of our friendly makers, but considering quality, price, wait time, customer service, and resale value, I'd say Todd is the best.

For me it is an older early 60's bone handled Schrade 8OT. For me, it doesn't get any better than that.

I have a few. As I think many of us do. But I have never held one of them. Soon though. My wife recently found one of my grail knives! An emerald green SAK pioneer from the South African market, that because of Woodrow's,has been on the top of list for quite a while now. It is being shipped now. The 33 in red bone is another. As well as the sheepsfoot scout knife EO.

I really like the idea of the 62 for you though.

Gabe

There is only one better knife to have in your Schrade collection, than an "old early 60's Schrade 8OT".
The saw-cuts in the bone, are hard to see in this photo.

I would say this 1960 bone 8OT still sitting in its' box, would be a little better, it's still an old knife, but a goody.

This NIB Buck 301, made by Schrade in 1966 - is the only one I have ever seen in this condition.

The ACB8 was due to be sold in the second half of 2004. They can sill be found on ebay "unfinished"
This is a finished salesman sample, the last of the Schrade 8OT type knives.

I believe this 2004 Anniversary set, is as Grail as Grail can be. Ken.

Your picture link isn't working for me but man I am so curious what you posted!

IWould suggest you look at the Taylor Eye Witness Barlows or the Northfield 77 patterns

One Grail, impossible for me;

Joseph Rodgers pearl wharncliffe whittler

Remington 1306

New York Knife Company 5 1/4" coke bottle hunter with stamped rear bolster

Schrade 8OT, early original, bone handled

Not so much a "grail knife" but one that's always eluded me for one reason or another is a TC Barlow. I've always missed out on new runs, ones showing up in the Exchange here or whatever. Either I didn't have the funds at the time or I was beat out by someone else. Some day the timing will be right.

I've been fortunate enough to find a few of mine, all mint unused in the original box.
