I want to make sure that I get the holes properly in line after I get them to the right size. Why do you need to take the frame apart to make scales?

I just bought the same knife, Red micarter BOTM from a collector this week. Awaiting it. He wants now to sell its 110 red micarter counterpart …am thinking of buying to make the set. What's he want for it? Just kidding :p Go for it. I wouldwww.bladeforums.com
As you can see in your photo the frame & lock bar are riveted in place. However, you can rotate the frame to do what you want to do Sir.
Take some long, spare #2X56TPI screws, preferably with a socket heads, chuck them up in a portable hand drill, and spin grind a point on each with either a wheel or a belt. Screw these into the Aluminum scales from the backside and press the new wooden scales onto the protruding points to mark the “clearance” holes. You can even clamp the wooden scales to the Aluminum scales and screw the pointed marking screws into the wood.Trying to make scales for the 112.
