Is there any word on what Busse's Next Offering will be?

What's this about an "Americanized tanto"? The PD is one. So is the Force One. So are damn near every other tanto made in the US and elsewhere.

THESE are "traditional tanto". And while I seriously doubt the Bossman would ever make something like them, I'd buy one (or 27) in a second if he did. ;)

One Too many Tantos, IMO....... (according to the protocol list....)
If you have a public defender size, and then a Force one.
And then stick one sized right in the middle.........
Oh well......
.
Oh, BTW..... Guys, don't forget that there is absolutlely no guarantee that the rotation will be the same the second time around. Will Jerry do another run of AK47s? I doubt it........, but you never can tell.

I'd like to see the SF recurve and maybe even possibly something offered with an LE that is thinner than thicker. Especially if it's some type of fighter.

ummmm, excuse me, but the AK47 and the Ruksak are boh traditional tanto grinds. They are not the straight angled americanized tanto. So Jerry did make it.

The one you posted pics of looks to be about 12-13 inch blade or so. Jerry made the Ruksak at 15 inches, so very close to yours but much nicer than that.

FYI "tanto" means "small sword"...12 inches is the max length to fall in that category. That aside...

The AK-47 and Ruck don't look to be a full-height grind. *If* they are, and *if* they are convex grind, then I would grudgingly call them a tanto grind (technically, in this case, "hira zukuri") as long as they don't have a secondary grind right at the edge.

I'm sorry if I'm being needlessly pedantic, but Japanese sword terms are remarkably specific, basically because Japanese blades have characteristics that make them unique in the blade world.

Here's some reading material for you on blade shapes: http://www.ksky.ne.jp/~sumie99/styles.html

ok, ok, you got me! the next offering has "older" in it!

now if only i were Amy-0 :)

Even though you are not the real Amy-0 you are correct in your assesment.
I will be "older" by the time the next knife is offered and I will be much "older' when the "folder" is finally released at Blade 07. :D

thanks for the link. The traditional tanto style you mention is the same with the exception that it is more flat ground I think. Interesting that they have spear points and Daggers there which are not japanese style but obviously adopted by them. like RYO-SHINOGI-ZUKURI.

Anyway, a 10 - 12 inch tanto like the one you pictured would be cool. Even more concealable. I'd have to get one. But the Ruk is as close as Jerry has ever gotten. And it's close enough for me.

This is gonna get way OT but WTH... ;)

I'm fairly certain the ryo shinogi-zukuri shape was used primarily in blades designed to be used in Buddhist ceremonies (not intended to be carried into battle). I seem to remember that most of the blades made in that shape were from the Kamakura period ending in the early 1300's?

My personal favorite is the osoraku zukuri, which has a point that is at least half the length of the blade (the second picture). It's vicious looking. :D

I'd really love an INFI blade with no secondary bevel...that is, the main grind goes right to the edge.

I'd like to see the recurve, but not until a few more months, so I can catch up on my CC! Those limiteds and extravagnzas have my credit card in NUCLEAR MELTDOWN mode!

I'd love to see a folder next but my guess would have to be a Tank Buster or Badger Attack TAC.

Dang.... That's mean we're stuck in a viscious cycle. More money = more JWB = more awesome knives!!!!!
JERRY, MAKE SOME LAME KNIVES!!!!!!!! I CaN't TaKE it anYMOre!

an americanized tanto has more of a sharp angle to the tip, whereas a traditional tato is more curvy. the public defeder, ak, and ruck is traditional whereas a force one is americanized. all tanto designs from strider are americanized too. incredible penitration power, but i hate the way it looks.
