Is there ONE feature that causes you to buy multiples?

that ONE feature?

For me its that subjective level of coolness that makes me want to fondle, flick, carry, smell, lick (not really), use and covet the knife. Its that ethereal quality that fires of the neurons in the pleasure center of my brain. Its like what Justice Potter Stewart said about pornography - he could could not define it, but he said "I know it when I see it."

Variations in a model or feature I really like. I have about 10 Benchmade Axis Assist knives including 3 Barrages and 3 Mini-Barrages. Each of the three in each size has different scales, blade steels and blade designs. Add a Volli and three Emissarys including a gold class Damasteel one and they add up. I also have three Kershaw Leeks in different configurations. My favorite is the version with the G-10 scales.

Very cool, and great pictures too!!!!

for me its just simply when you get in hand and you say to yourself "Good Lord that's a nice knife!!!"

whether it is a; Rat1 (finally gave em all away), Spyderco Tenacious, or a Becker of any sorts

i really dont care about price, if its a great knife its worth getting at least 1 more

side note: i want to buy another Maruyoshi friction folder but i have no idea where to get one. it is one cool little knife; simplicity at its best

Folders I really like that are very limited and disco'd. Spyderco is really good for this aka sprint runs. Example: Caly 3.5 SuperBlue. I prefer to have at least two because it won't be produced again. Another example: Para2 20cp, I cannot get myself to use it because I only have one and I consider it as a grail for me.. Till I am able to secure another, It will remain in the safe.

If I was a rich man, I would have a backup for everything, after all, if I own a knife it means I like it. A little bit of OCD there.

I'd like to know JDavis aka John's answer. He buys quadruples of darn near everything.
Your spot on about JDavis. I can hear him now..."I stopped by the knife store today and picked up five PM2's only one was perfect." Or something like that.

For me I have Axisitis. There is no currently known cure, but buying an Axis locking knife keeps it in check.
