Is This a Buck 103?

looks like the same knife..joe houser built that for me probably 2018 or there about...i had the blade purple tini coated at business in lakeside california..
it is legitimate i got the blade from joe he had stashed..i know the knife had a coa letter from joe .. Who knows what happens as knives pass through many hands- looks bead blasted now --someone must not have liked the purple.... wish i had the original purple one back now..but my house is not big enough to keep all the knives that have passed through my hands going on to new caretakers. :)
looking real close as i can --i cant tell on my pictures if the spacers between the guard slabs and near pommel are micarta as the one in op post are... its evident on that knife... could be another blade floating out there---but i do believe it is absolutely not fake....
So it was an old blade and then Joe stamped the BOS logo? The BOS logo with the one line Buck is what initially caught my attention.

The non-inverted Buck* stamp is really interesting. I wonder where that came from. Maybe it was stamped "upside down" with the '67 stamp? Either as a mistake in 1967 or purposefully later?

Update:
I dont own a '67 103 but own a few from '61-66. I agree with the prior comment that the blade shape looks more modern.

I purchased the knife off the bay, bidding was suprisingly light. Careful comparison of the handles reveals the two knives are one in the same. The pictures on the bay make the knife look much worse than when in hand. The blade is actually very nice, not etched, blasted, or rusty. Not sure why the pictures did not reflect the actual nice condition very well.

That’s great to hear, Roger! We’d love to see some pictures. I’m curious to see how the blade looks in your pictures as opposed to the eBay listing. Cameras do funny things sometimes.

Congratulations. Approximately $120 for a Joe Houser custom is quite a bargain. I am glad that you were able to snag it. I always enjoy helping other people spend their money.:)

I would definitely like to see some photos with good lighting.
