Is this a Cold Steel knife?

I've come across someone who is selling a knife that he claims is a COLD STEEL, but I have not seen any CS knife like it, NOR can I find anything like it on the net to confirm its authenticity.

He initially started selling it as a plain hunting knife that is made of 440C ( :confused: ), and I messaged him because he stated NOT to put the knife in saltwater because 440C rusts. lol I sent him the wiki link on knife steels, and after looking at it, he replies to me with the following message, here, copied and pasted direct from his response:


dude. this knife is a cold steel. original price tag for this was $250

this is also the cheapest knife they sold on there web page 2 years ago. however i got this for free because i bought a rifle. i dont know why but they giving away pretty heptic things back than. but my local camping store was shouting everyone coupons for the cold steel knifes if we bought any fire arm

im also not saying that salt is going to wreck the metal. in an instant. im just providing customer's care and awareness about looking after it. i had for 2 years sir and i havent problem with it. ever since.
ive used it countless times near salt water. and it never rusted for me. i even went swimming with it but the information i got given is in the distription. i dont care if its false information. i just want this gone asap. i have too many knifes sir. thats why im selling it. i will be selling other knifes. thats if your interested sir. but in the mean case. thank you for giving me a link about information about the steel grade. i am fully aware that this grade sounds doggie but i got this from America.

So I wrote him back a few minutes ago telling him to send CLEAR hi-res pics of the knife, especially the blade area where it's written that it's a CS.

If anyone here can shed any light on this matter I would appreciate it. Personally, I think that he's either been taken on a ride or is trying to take others on one, if in fact it isn't some rare form of CS knife that's not well documented on the net etc.

Nope. I don't know what it is, but it's definitely not anything Cold Steel has ever offered.

I now noticed that the clown's gone and relisted the item.

Is there a thread for listing known bogus/fraudulent ads of knives anywhere in here? So unsuspecting newbies don't get caught in it. And I'm not sure if it's ok to list the link to the ad here in this thread. :confused:

I sent him a link to this thread a short while ago and he messages me back within 10 minutes asking, "Do you want it or not?". :cool:

Possibly the finest Knifes ever sold on the internet. If he auctioned it off on Ebay, it would surpass hundreds of rupees. Thousand rupees at leSS! It most top selling highest of special qualities included. Act now, and sheet of many Brown mystery of stains included at not cost
Very softer of materials for wiping blade of Knifes, and other things also wiped great.

After replying to his question about whether I STILL wanted to buy it or not, telling him simply, "No thanks" and nothing more, he sends me this reply, here, screenshot of his message:

So he's now made a death threat upon me at worst, or threatened grievous bodily harm upon me at best.

He should watch it now that Mr Sosa is looking in... I mean... look at what he did to Tony Montana. :D

Some Ebay sellers are precious no?:)
 
if he tracks you down and tries to stab you with the blade as shown above, just be sure to wear a t shirt with long sleeves that will probably save your life

T-shirt? You don't know how thick skinned I am robin. :D I won't lose any sleep over him that's for sure, and if he asks, I'd be happy to give him my details.

btw... I messaged Ebay Customer Service about him hours ago and they replied not half an hour ago. Shit did they freak. They said in case I wanted to report the matter to the cops they could leave me the phone number to the local cop shop where he lives and a contact phone and reference number for me to give to the cops so they could contact Ebay direct for his personal details, that's if I chose to report him.

What a waste of cop resources that would be; forget it. Not only that but it's obvious he's pissed because he got caught out and doesn't know of a better way to manage his emotions. I have a 3 year old niece and a 5 yo nephew who are both like that, if they can't have their way in certain situations they chuck wobblies, slam spit their dummies and start threatening all sorts of things. Just like our matey with the Super Duper CS... he's on par with them.

The only way that knife would even remotely be cold Steel, is if you put it in the freezer for a week.
