is this a good knife? for hunting and camping use only?

There are also a pile of Custom makers that could hook you up with a nice knife in that $150 to $200 price range. A few that jump out at me are Phillip Patton, Bailey Knives, Fiddleback, GL Drew, Dan Koster, Tom Krein..... Pop over to the Makers section of Blade Forums and Click on Fixed Blades For Sale..... surely you can find somethig you like there.
 that is also a good option

http://sogknives.com/store/TL-01.html looking for something to carry hunting along with a 3'' folder. would like something that would last a lifetime this one looks appealing to me

Dozier has solid reputation as producer of best hunting knives. Have a look at his knives, however price range will be over $200, but they are really best in all term.

Thanks, Vassili.

P.S.
Personally I like them for best edge holding among 27 steels I tested - best performance over all steel including ZDP189, CPM 10V... - best of the best.

Dozier makinh knives for hunters from 70th and for sure know how to do this.

If you're not a knife nut, and just want something TOUGH, sharp, easy to resharpen, and never need to worry about reliability and whether or not the company will replace it if something should happen to it.. then you should go with Rat Cutlery. An RC4 would be perfect for you.

SOG is junk. stay away.

Bark River is good stuff too. But I like RAT's 1095 steel.

For me SOG make some good knives, RAT make very good knives for a very good price AND 1095 is a good choice for a survival knife. But if you want to test powder technology, take a look on 3G steel from fallkniven (62 HRC !)

For many years, Hunting meant a Buck knife. Animals have not changed much and a Buck knife is still about as good as it gets for the hunter. Pick up a Buck 119, countless thousands of hunters have been well served by this knife. The Buck Vanguard is also a great choice, as is the Alpha Hunter.

I hunted for years doing guide work and only carried a Buck 110. If I weree to use a SOG for hunting, I would get the Field Pup.
