Is this a marsh green or OD green scale?

^^^ Hate to say it, but I'm pretty sure yours is OD as well. I've found that even authorized dealers don't always know what they're talking about.. Had one try to sell me a trans green as pond scum once...

One of mine came with a marsh and it looks gray with just a hint of green to me.
It sits in a zip lock bag along with a blue and a FDE spare scale.

That's it, if I got OD green instead of marsh green I no longer want my knife. Might as well consider it a boat anchor-anyone want it for free?? LOL Never the less, the scales that I got look the same color as a backpack I have from maxpedition in foliage green color, and if mine is OD green, it is lighter than I would have thought for OD.

Dibs. My lawyer should be contacting you shortly to work out the details of our transaction.

Tried to capture the green

That is definitely O.D. Green and not Marsh Green.

I have never understood how these colors are so confusing for so many. In hand, they aren't similar at all and the Monkey Edge picture is good enough that anyone should be able to figure out which is which.

Can anyone post a picture of what marsh green looks like next to a more vibrant color say a blue?

You know what? I think that OD green would look great with all bronze hardware... I am falling out of love with the blue a little bit. Wheels are turning:) BTW, I think the ability to completely change the looks is one of the biggest reasons why I am so drawn to Hinderers.

MR, I have bronze spacers on my Marsh....I mean my OD green and can't wait to get some scale screws, I like the bronze with the green. For the record, I like my green scale, don't care if it's marsh or OD..LOL

To the OP, yes, I'd say that OD as well. Marsh Green is pretty much the same color as Spyderco's Foliage Green (think Dragonfly in G10).

Perfect

As much as I hate to admit when I'm wrong....I'm wrong, I do in fact have an OD green scale. I traded a member for another OD green scale, and mine looks a slight shade lighter (it has white down in the texture) which makes it a little lighter. So now what to do with two od green scales???? I better buy that wharnie that's calling my name..LOL Eric

I believe what you are saying is that you can see the fibers which are lighter (or white) in one of the scales but not so much in the other? Does the lighter one seem more dry? Take some WD40 (or mineral oil if you have it, everyone should have some around) and wipe the scale with it and then wipe all of it off. I'll bet the color returns and the fibers are less noticeable.

My comment about mineral oil and that everyone should have it around, it is a very useful product, particularly knife enthusiasts as you can use it on knives to wipe them down or lubricate them, in particular if you use them to cut your food.

I use mineral oil also and wipe down all of my blades with it occasionally. Call me crazy but I like the dry G10 look. I usually leave my G10 scales as is.

RDA and all, thanks for the tip on the WD40/mineral oil. Yes, it's the white fibers that I'm referring to. The gentleman that I got the scale from mentioned the WD40 trick as well, but haven't tried it as of yet. I am saving up in my knife fund for a wharnie and will definitely get one, I kinda got side tracked on knife purchases, as coyote season for me is in full swing and I keep borrowing from my funds.

I prefer ballistol!!! Love that stuff!! I need to go coyote hunting!!! Haven't had the chance yet... My AR is just waiting to get some!!! Haha!
