Is this a mouse hole anvil or rail track?

Picked up this little anvil at yard sale and at first I thought rail track but looking harder if this is rail track someone spent alot of time on it. If it's a mouse can anyone guess approximate age. For 5 dollars I said what the heck. I know the top is messed up but a ball bearing bounces on it.

It looks to be a home made rail track anvil. Very used and abused.

Thanks Stacey, have you seen any rail track that is that thick in the center or is that a lot of build up. It weighs about 25 to thirty pounds.

Track comes in many sizes and gauges. Even on the same rail line it may be different for curves than straight sections. I have some from a ship yard crane track that is 6" wide.
