Is this an LB3?

That's the one lrv (Larry) was suggesting in his second post, I believe. Good call.

Now, that looks good.
I love happy endings... :D

I hope you get it Larry and thanks for identifying my knife. I guess I'll never know the story behind my little knife except that it's a variation of an Imperial 4715 that supposedly came from the Schrade sample room. This knife is a very handy size. How about that oddball Imperial that I also posted a pic of? That's one of Jim Parker Jr's (silverladdie on eBay) listings and will probably go cheap.

Jim is handling a lot of the sample room knives. I bought one of the 165 pattern samples. IMHO, provenance is sketchy, but some nice and unique knives are coming from this lot.

Codger

Codger, provenance is certainly a problem with a lot of these oddball knives. Like Larry's unmarked Imperials, I have a new black handled Schrade PH2 that is unstamped. As long as I don't try to sell it, I won't have a problem and as long as they are cheap, they might be worth buying for the novelty. Besides that, they are still knives, whether they are rejects, seconds, unmarked or otherwise. The fact that they may not say Schrade on them doesn't make them any less useful if you want to use them. You convinced me of that. :)

redshanks,
Thanks for the link. This is a P-1 from the "The All Americans" series. I have picked up the set of the P series Imperials over the last year or so. The black handled had 3, I believe in the series. The wooden inlayed series had 5 or 6. I started with the wooden series and was surprised to see the black handled ones. They do come up often on the ole EBay.
As for your little oddity. Enjoy it its a beauty.
