Is this Bura’s Mark?

Did they make a 15” WWII? I know they do the BAS. There is a double loop for the frog. Just comparing similarities.

Yes, the WWII is available in 15" and 18". They also make or used to make a 16.5" with Chiruwa style handle (exposed tang, slab scales). I used to own a 16.5" Chiruwa WWII and currently own a 15" and 18" hidden tang versions.

Thank you wildman. So this looks like a WWII instead of a BAS?

Question? Are these 3 not the same knife? I know Yangdu sold me the bottom 2 as BAS’s.
HELP PLEASE! Thank you! The top one is Bura.A6B8E32C-968B-4C97-A304-A67C7A1ABA76.jpeg A9365E95-5A86-47B4-A085-8E6874C615E9.jpeg

I'm stumped. I thought the BAS was more gradual at the angle on the back strap.
Those 3 sure look similar. Could all be BAS's or all WWII's.

Wait for somebody wiser than I to come along.

I'm also waiting for someone wiser, but in the meantime: My original guess was BAS. Then I wasn't sure. Now I'm back to BAS.

If you compare the two photos posted by Steve Tall, one clear difference is that the spine of the BAS is curved from the tip to the bend (like George's blade), while the spine of the WWII is straight from tip to bend. On the other hand, in the same two pics the BAS has an elaborate Sword of Shiva, while the WWII SoS is a simple line (like George's blade). So that's a wash

To break the tie I looked at the belly of the blade, which is much closer to the tip on a WWII model, unlike George's blade. This is confirmed by George's pics of his Bura blade and two others that Yangdu sold as BAS. Those three blade profiles are virtually identical.

Why the different Sword of Shiva? Maybe the specs weren't as well defined back when Bura made this blade, or perhaps as a Master he felt that he had a right to play with some of the details. It's also possible that he made this blade soon after his stroke and had some trouble engraving the more intricate SoS, or had a helper do it.

In any case it's a great acquisition.

The middle one is one of my early orders directly from Yangdu on the phone as she suggested knives for my collection. It was a BAS from the HI web page before I discovered the forum. The bottom one was a $25 DOTD that was used, too good of a deal to pass up. The Bura at the top was a win from me the high bidder.....wanna guess where? Just needed another Bura for my collection!

The only difference I can make out between the three Khukuris is the different pattern of the adornment (Shiva's Sword) which runs close to the back of knife. The lefternmost one is markedly different in that respect. Furthermore the left one may have a slightly more outward bulged design of the blade.

Maybe Auntie could clarify?
