I got my pretty new Badger Attack in today. I ordered (or thought I ordered)the urban gray blade with black magnum micarta scales. But usually black micarta in not so black. Are these G-10 scales? I like it fine. I'm just wondering.

From my experience if it look 100% black its G-10, if it has some grey specs throughout its Micarta.

Thank you gentlemen. It doesn't really matter. I really like the look and feel. I dang sure ain't sending it back! I think it is either linen micarta or G-10.

Horn Dog, that black G10 is sweet. I have black micarta mags and while they feel good they don't have the rich black of the G10.

could be micarta, normally on g10 you cant see the grain, which appears to be visible in the top pic.

That's a great looking knife, Horn Dog!

I've got one coming like that - can't wait  :D

That's G-10. I have the same handle. I think you can always see the layers of the laminate micarta. I think

Reminds me I need to get my order in for a black G-10 Sus Scrofa.

Great Badger!!!

I would have guessed that it was oily or wet Micarta. Have you tried scrubbing it with a little dish detergent and drying? If they look the same after cleaning then they are G-10. If they lighten considerably, they are Micarta. Either way, that is one great combo!

Horn Dog,
Did you round/smooth down the edges of your scales?
Or did they come that way?
lookin good!
