Is this grinder a waste of money?

Ive used my HF 1x30 to make every knife I've completed so far.
Definitely better than a file, but once you get the hang of it, it makes you understand the reason for a $1500 2x72.

I recommend it highly, and spring for the warranty do when it, if ever, dies you can get a replacement.
