Is this how a Bailout blade should look?

Just purchased fro REI. Just cut paper with it.

Sorry, I have to run into town after making this post. More to follow.

These are the best close ups I can take with my phone. Initially, I viewed thru my lupe and it appears very scratchy and one part in particular seems really rough. Comapred to a 6 year old Buck 112, which has never been sharpened, the 112 is smooth with no visible rough edges.

Although I do have the SHARPAL 162N Double-sided Diamond Sharpening Stone and leather strop, I've never sharpened a knife before.

Any feedback is appreciated.

So, according to the numerous replies on Reddit, the answer is YES. That's the way Benchmade blades look. Except for the tiny hair visible in the second video.

"Just what do you think you’re doing Dave? Dave, I really think I’m entitled to an answer to that question. I know everything hasn’t been quite right with me…but I can assure you now…very confidently…that it’s going to be all right again. I feel much better now. I really do."

Benchmade is known for sharpening at a lower grit and having a "toothy edge". If it cuts well, I wouldn't worry about it. Eventually, you'll need to sharpen and then you can finish to whatever level you choose. I will mention that the new SelectEdge knives have noticeably finer sharpening. I'd love to see it on more of their knives. Also the Bailout is a great knife. Probably my all around favorite Benchmade.
