The box it came in and the knife itself both say BOKER PLUS.

It measures about 3 inches closed and about 5 inches open. The pivot washers are white plastic. The stainless liners are so sharp that you could shave with them.

There is no nail nick and the larger hole in the blade cannot be used to open the knife so you must grab the blade between two fingers and pull it open.

The grind isn't bad and it is quite sharp.

The blade is labeled 154CM on one side and Taiwan on the other side. The liner lock works fine after I loosened the pivot screws and tightened them again, all in the open position.

I like the color and the $6.36 price delivered from dealextreme sku 18262.

Any BOKER experts in the house?

If you think it's a complete fake, then yes, it is what you think it is.

Hmmm.. I'm not too familiar with Boker or BokerPlus, but I've never seen one like this before. Do they normally sell one that looks like that?

It is a China made knife. It is not made in Taiwan, the steel is not 154cm, and it is not a Boker. These are being imported by the same people importing counterfeit Emersons, Bucks, Benchmades, Spydercos, etc. $6.36 shipped is probably what you would pay retail from one particular knock off site.

Assuming the blade is shite, what about taking it apart and using the blade as a template. If you use good steel, you could think of it as a kit knife.

Thoughts?

It's so radical that even the people from Boker could only wish of having thought of it first! Enjoy it while it last...

I won't sell it to any of youse. Don't even think about it.

My testing begins.

Rockwell hardness test next week. Stay tuned.

Oooh. Can we take bets? I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and say 52. :)

I actually did remove the blade and give it to a mechanical engineer, who has hardness testing equipment @ work, in order to get a third party's take on the Rockwell hardness of this "cocktail cherry" of a knife. I plan to see him, my older son, Tuesday and I'll post any results.

As others said, it's more than likely a fake.
But I must say there is something fresh and appealing about the general design. Imagine the blade without the 3 holes but one thumbstud instead. It would look rather ok. Do any others agree?

by the way, the picture below is a (real) Boker Magnum M-type. I have it, it is quite nice, compact and well made. The M-button unlocks the liner lock. I believe that the blade uses 440C steel (can't check now)
