Couldn't find any information, whatsoever, on this knife, but am looking for a nice Damascus stag hunting knife of the same style. Is this worth buying?

We don't allow Amazon links, sorry. Read the forum rules.

Most likely made in Pakistan. Since it does not have any manufacturer name or reviews I would stay away

If a hotel has to advertise itself as "clean" it is not. If a knife has the name "Real Damascus", it is garbage.

Any ideas where I could get something of the same style for $150-300...for a bit more, say $450-500 would I be able to custom make something like that?

I would be concerned that the maker is not noted.

I do have a Pakistan made Damascus knife. It's a large Bowie about an 8" blade. Seems pretty tough and sharpens well. It's got that "Pakistan style" that's not really my thing though. Kinda like the knife you are looking at.

There seems to be a prejudice here against Middle Eastern made knives. Probably for good reason. But I have to ask, Damascus steel is named and was originally produced......Where?

Cheap Damascus is cheap Damascus. Soft as butter and made as quickly and cheaply as possible. It's pot metal folded over a bunch of times and then acid etched. It might look good on a wall, but that's about as useful as such blades will ever be. In a pinch, you could stab a home intruder with one, though. It's not a knife you would count on being sharp for more than one use.
