is this original benchmade knife?

I think you should email Benchmade with some pictures and where you purchased the knife. I'm sure they'd be interested in seeing who's using their logo, even if there's not much they can do about it.

I hope I'm wrong but the thought occured to me that could the OP be the one selling these knives and is just testing the waters to see if his "product" is passable. Especially because of his comment about the 2nd knife he bought that he's gonna post pics of to see if we think it's a fake or not also.

next time I would advise that you will do some research about a specific brand and their models and if you could, handle them before you would purchase a knife rather than the price tag, or the sellers word. The seller will say anything to make a sale.

If you are new to knives, then that's an honest mistake, but you're not, then that says something in itself.....

Good Lord Almighty!!! I really hope you didn't pay over $20 for that mamba jamba. It is quite possibly the ugliest thing I've ever laid these poor eyes on!

I'm sorry for your misfortune bro you really need to do your research before buying a quality knife ESPECIALLY if you're buying it at a gun show or flee market! Also you might want to reassess your taste in knives, if you pulled that thing out in a super market people would run for their lives and some might tackle you to the ground!

All joking aside I would go right back to the place you bought it and tell him that you showed it to knife appraiser and he told you it was definately a fake.

plus 1 to this. and what about the "Dork ops" he's wanting your opinions on?

That's exactly what I am thinking as well.

Wow guys
Take it easy on the poor guy, he asked a simple question.
These kind comments are what drives people away from this forum.
We all where green before.

Hey Eric, I wasn't trying to be harsh, that's why I started my statement by saying that "I hope I'm wrong". If kashif, the OP is legit then I apologize now and hope no offense is taken, and please don't let this prevent you kashif from being a happy contributing member here.
The problem is there are lots of trolls, etc that come onto these forums and spoil things for legit members. By nature I tend to take people at their word but after having been duped on two recent occasions I'm more leery now. When kashif mentioned his Benchmade, Dark Ops and Boker all being fakes my Spydie senses started to tingle, that's all.

On a more positive note kashif, sounds like you're new to knives. Before you go spending your hard earned money on them, do your research on your favorite brands, and if you have questions feel free to ask here, there are very many knowledgeable members here.

Cheers!

When you're new to knives, you will buy accidently fake or few. I know I bought Böker fake last autumn, but the knife was cheap and blade steel was infact surprisingly well. Don't worry, count the knives price as learning money and use it for sharpening practise :D

Benchmades don't ALWAYS mark the model on them. My old original CQC7 has the butterfly logo on one side, with USA underneath, with the Emerson logo and the steel type on the opposite side. I know this one isn't a fake, I ordered it direct from Benchmade in '96, when I was working for an authorized Benchmade dealer.

You're correct Benchmade didn't always have the model number stamped under the Butterfly logo. I can't remember the year they started doing it, but I have a 705 from around 2000 and it doesn't have the model number on it.
