Is this Randall knife fake?

Age and use would dictate the unlined thong lanyard hole and the current condition of the blade. Randall stamp can be a light strike or heavy(deeper)depending on condition of stamp and person doing it. More pics with no glare would be nice.

The overall finish work doesn't add up. That finger groove model is one of my favorite from randall, I have a 14 and a 16 FG both much more well finished, I doubt randall would let something so poorly finished out the door.

This is an older--not new knife that shows obvious signs of use. Even new the quality(F&F)can be hit or miss.

How well finished is the exposed tang? I've never seen a randall without a lanyard tube, doesn't mean they don't exist but I had a kit randall from the 60's that had a tube however it could have been a custom handle since it was a kit. The important thing is the exposed tang and how well it fits so a pic would help.
Not exactly what I would call a deciding factor, as I have seen and owned many where as the exposed tang was finished nicely and some that were not(grinding marks that looked like a zipper/also gaps between tang/handle that was filled with epoxy.

I do recall something about non pinched or flared lanyard tubes on the older ones. More detailed pictures would surely be a help.

I am certain you have seen more older ones than I so for sure would defer to your knowledge. Since I don't see a pic of the tang, I was more eluding to needing to see that it actually has an exposed tang to eliminate that factor of potential fakery.

Yes---understood and I agree that more pics are needed.
