What does Bladeforums protocol say about retracting a knife (in this case) after someone (me in this case) says "I'll take it". After I said I'd take it, the person basically said the knife is no longer available. Did he wait to long to retract the item, or is that just my luck?
Thanks for listening to me ramble but I'm a little PO'd!

Someone could have sent an "i'll take it" in a private mesage. Or like stated the seller may have changed his mind?

It's not a deal until both parties agree.

Until funds change hands the deal is not set in stone.

It can be the other way around too. I had expressed interest in a few different knives, a few emails back and forth with the sellers and I decided upon one. I said "I'll take it if no one claims it" but then came up short on cash. the seller was generous with his time and appreciated the fact that I was being upfront. He was able to move the knife to the next person in line. At the same time I had a trade deal going on that went through, and the other party is happy with what i sent, and I'm awaiting his knife in return. I think common courtesy goes a long ways in making deals or trades amongst ourselves, It's the 'currency' we trade in daily here IMO.
