Is this the norm after a Ganza?

With the last Thanksgiving Ganzaaaaa, most knives were available for immediate shipping. However, there were others that still had the normal production process. If you would like to call the office at (419)923-6471, Speak with either Lexi or I, we will figure out where your order is.

Thank you!

You guys rock Pokey!!!!!!

The UPS man just delivered my Ganza SOB and it is SOOOOO worth the wait! I love the CF! The knife feels great in my hand and while I love my big ol' Satin TG, this baby just feels like an extension of my hand. Such a good fit for me! I think it will be my new favorite! Thanks again, Jerry & the Busse Crew for serving up some amazing, high quality knives for us.

I don't know what you're sneaking into the INFI, but whatever it is, my addiction grows stronger with each purchase!

The way Busse is overproducing knives nowadays, turning them for a profit or even breaking even will be a thing of the past.

I remember when it used to be kind of difficult getting a Busse..Now,they are everywhere.

Hmm, some of us just like them because they're awesome.

I'll have to disagree with you. I think you are oversimplifying things. There are models that are readily available and ones that aren't. Let's take a look at Spyderco for example. Buy a standard Military and it will only be worth less if you sell it. A Sprint run on the other hand, will only go up.

Sure there are plenty of TGLB blades out there and they are still being made. Good luck selling one of those for a markup. Now let's look at the recently sold BIG ASH. There are plenty of people foaming at the mouth to get one I don't think anyone will sell for a loss. Busse isn't overproducing. We are just spoiled at the moment.

Agreed. There are still plenty of rare Busse's out there that will sell for plenty, and in a heartbeat, when they pop up. The TGLB's are just sort of mostly meeting demand now*, which seems to be an unusual situation for Busse knives. The Walking Dead tie-in is probably skewing those numbers somewhat (if you want an amusing ten minutes go look on eBay at all the TGLB's offered at amusingly high prices with "Walking Dead" and "Daryl Knife" plastered all over the title/description, even when they aren't remotely close to the exact model used).

Busse knives are wonderful tools, and wonderful examples of the knifemaking arts, but I buy them because I like them (I'd say that they speak to me, but some might take that literally), not as an investment plan.

*: I think the real breakthrough in production was replacing Garth's hands with those custom designed robotic implements for grinding out TGLB's.

Some folks haven't even gotten their knives yet and they are already showing up on ebay. I mean, I guess that's capitalism but it sucks for people who missed out and really wanted a knife for themselves. Maybe I'm being silly but this is the norm I guess? As a swimbait fisherman I've often encountered this same thing with sought after lures, we call them "bait flippers." ...
I agree, it does stink if someone wants a knife for their collection, especially when someone else with deep pockets buys many of the ones available for sale and then immediately tries to resell them for an excessive profit – in this case I would call them a profiteer or price gouger, not just a flipper. I am thinking of one individual in particular who was banned from BladeForums, but still sells Busse and other knives on eBay and elsewhere. I think the best answer is NOT to buy from someone like this until they can make an honest and fair deal with the buyer (at a reasonable profit). I have passed on some knives I really wanted because the individual mentioned above was asking way too much and his poor reputation. On the other hand I have purchased knives here from "dericdesmond", "knife hunter", "messer454", "roenman" and many others, and I felt they were all positive deals. So I guess it boils down to "buyer beware"; in other words, know what is a fair price and do not pay more.
