  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Is this the Tatanka ?

I will own a tatanka, but I so wish it was available in exotic steel like M4, CTS-XHP or M390. VG10 is a fine steel, but a super steel would take it to a whole new level.

Not a big deal but why does the pocket clip have that upper hole. Endura/Delica clip overstock or something? The large Lum I got yesterday has the same clip is why I was curious.
On a handle that large that space could definitely be used to make it carry lower.
Keep in mind that the knife pictured is labled a "Production Prototype" and that small details, like clips, will very often change between prototypes and regular production knives.

I wouldn't be surprised if see the Tatanka in an action movie someday. Expendables 3 maybe. ;)

Not the screw hole, the lanyard hole. Take a look at the Endura for one example and that hole is where the lanyard threads through. This knife, and my large Lum, for another example, have no lanyard hole there but the clip does.
I'm going to put a low clip there anyway. It will still have enough hanging out of the pocket for a grip, similar to the Manix 2 XL.

The one that really bugs me is the Ti/Damascus Delica. They used the lanyard hole clip and then put the clip lower than the Lanyard hole. It would look aswesome with the black finish clip that the Taichung Spydies get. Not that it really matters, because like you I would be putting one of Casey's clips on there anyway.

Don't have one, so I can't be 100% sure, but I'm betting they use that clip to allow clearance for the pivot screw for those sensible enough to carry tip down.

Aha! I overlooked that feature. Thanks for pointing out my oversight. My Lum large Chinese has been sitting in front of me for days and I didn't notice that. :foot:

Same here, but I am a tip up only guy so I get a pass for never considering that:p
