Is this worth it?

I think it'd be much cheaper to get the items individually and an Otterbox. 89 is a bit much for that.

No.

Signal mirror - $10
saw - $25?
large swedish firesteel -$15
whistle - <$5

Not sure what the case is worth, and I wouldn't spend anything on the tinder, you can get tinder for free in the bush or make enough petroleum jelly cotton balls to last a lifetime for a few dollars.

NRA had a sale on this exact same kit for $25. I missed that one but i got another kit from NRA with out the saw for $12. I would say a big NO on the $89..

30 bucks cheaper on the big auction site if'n you are really liking it that much. Personally, I probably still wouldn't get it at that cost.

You can get comparble items for less $$. And put them in a bag or spred em throughout your pockets. I much prefer the Strikeforce firestarter cause there is less to go wrong with it.

I saw this at the gun show and then on twowolvesoutdoor.com Is it worth the $$?

If the folks at Two Wolves sells 'em, then they aren't junk. Shoot them an email, they'll answer you PDQ.
They don't just talk the talk, they walk the walk too. If that gives you any comfort.

89 bucks is a little high, though...about the only thing in it I'd want would be the blastmatch...the rest you could make or do without.

I just spoke to Lisa and am in process of ordering a BK9 from them. They're good folks and very helpful.

That set at one time sold for around $50. I never got one because I thought it was pricey back then.

Build your own kit for a fraction of the price. Whistle and mirror, cheap. the BlastMatch is nice as it requires one hand to use. A Spark-Lite kit may cost almost as much as the BlastMatch, but it comes with tinder, too. As for the saw, I have found the pocket chain saw thingies most effective when used by two people. Otherwise, they sap a fair amount of horsepower.

If you do an online search the same kit can be found for around $60.00

but as already mentioned you could put something very comparable together for less.
