Is what people say about the busse warranty true?

I have never heared of Busse not warranting a true warranty claim, although i have cringed by some of the things Hogs do with their knives ( like attacking a harmless drum with a Gladius) :D

Does the same Busse warranty also applies to swamprat knives?
I just won a chopweiler CF and i just wondered.

What about re-profiling the edge of a Satin Jack with an edge pro sharpening system? Years ago I bought a SJ and put it on the Edge Pro to create(at least in my mind) an edge that was better for slicing and one I could continue to re-sharpen. Would this be a reason to void the warranty?

That would be a question for the Shop... but as long as it's not ridiculously thinned out, my guess is probably not. :) I just thinned out a BOSS Jack... and I might have gotten a little 'frisky' with it. :o ...So I gotta watch it with that new edge and I'll probably convex sharpen it from now on to add a little angle to it... My skills with an Edge-Pro really are quite...bad!!!

Jaxx, what do you find difficult about the EdgePro? I ask because I am sharpening challenged and thought that it would be the answer.

The quality, service and warranty can't be beat period!!! This is why many just simply keep coming back...

Beats me... The first knife I resharpened was a CGFBM, and that went fine. The next 2 were more angle reducing projects and they were a PITA. I gave up on a fatty GW, and switched to convexing, which did work finally. The BOSS Jack... One side seems to have more metal removed than the other, although I never changed the angle of the edge-pro. I think that it's good for touching up & resharpening blades, but for thinning them out...well, the problem may just be me. :o The D/C finish on the BOSS Jack is now frakked also, so I will probably just hit it with Mothers mag polish to remove it. Granted, it has a screaming edge on it now, but it will have to be restricted to slicer duty until I start convexing it to reinforce the edge a little. I don't want to ripple it. If I had to guess, the total edge angle is around 40 degrees or less... :o:o

I believe that one mistake that I made was to just set an angle and grind it down. If I ever get the nerve to try again, I believe that I will try to thin the edge in stages, little by little.

I've never needed the warranty and probably never will since I do use my knives but rarely do anything over the top abusive.
The warranty and quality of product is why I currently have well over a hundred Busse knives.

Just use it and don't worry about it. :)

 Look who posted, one of those old Uber Hogs!

Hey, Mike, stick around! :p

I buy Busse for the same reason I buy Leupold scopes; great quality and a warranty second to none, but the main reason is the quality of the product.

Any manufacturer can offer a great warranty, but if you have to take advantage of said warranty constantly, you're dealing with junk.

This is not the case with Busse. Chances are you won't need the warranty, because it's a great product !!!!!!!

So I guess that I won't be trying to split bullets with those then... ;)

I would say you could probably split bullets on INFI, just don't shoot the blade on the flat broad side of it ;) ;) :D

I beat the hell out of my Steel Heart last winter making little sticks from split logs often times hammering them with a hammer. I even went all the way through alot of these pieces with force down into the slate support base for my wood stove.....Slate FLEW! INFI? No Chips, cracks or rolls! One of the main reasons I spent the money on the Steel Heart was for the lifetime warranty. I've met the Busse people and I know they are honorable persons. If they say it, they will do it.

Edited to add;

After this past winter I suspect I will never have to call for the warranty to be honored since the quality is superior.
