The first of my new Isle Royale pattern.. Featuring a bright but not full mirror finish, Oregon Maple Burl wood handles stabilized by K&G, 1/8" 1084 from Aldo Bruno and my own heat treating. This is about 7.5" long overall with just under 3.5" of blade. The scales are about 1/8" thick for a slim and light knife. The mark is just etched into the steel but not darkened for a subtle but clear look that's easier to see in person than on camera. Likewise, the blade is not flat grey like the second and third images, that's just the un-lit ceiling reflecting because I didn't give the blade something bright to reflect into the camera.

The blade profile is a modified Wharncliffe. I've incorporated a small but distinct curve in the last portion of the edge. While a thin blade and ground to a fairly thin edge, the slight upward curve helps retain sufficient steel at the tip for strength. This minimizes one of the few weaknesses of the Wharncliffe design.

Price is $150 with the small tek-lok as shown. Shipping is generally $8 via USPS w/insurance.

That would make a great bird and trout or neck knife. Nice looking and I like the handle with the mosaic pins.
 
Thanks guys. This is one of my favorites that I've done in terms of the smaller knives. It's a great blend of form and function with a little extra from the wood that makes it pretty even to non knife folks.
 
I went through your Web-Site and I really like your style of Knife Making ! I really like the Isle Royale Design and the scaled up version the Isle Royale Alpha. And another one of your Knive's I really like Is the Curves that you made for the Knife Dog's Summer KITH. Do you plan on making any of the Isle Royale Alpha's and Curves In the Future that will be available ? I know this Isle Royale has been listed for quite some time and I cant believe It hasnt Sold yet "I Blame It On The Economy Time's Are Tough", I know the Black one you had Listed Sold Fast !
 
Definitely, Kicking Bird. I've got an Alpha profiled in CPM154 waiting to go out for HT right now. It's a skinnier model though, the blade height is not as tall as the first two. It's also 3/16" so not a kitchen blade really. I've got one in ATS34 at 5/32 I might include in the HT shipment but it's also short. That leaves the last chunk of ATS34 that I've got a Lycaon traced on but am seriously considering cutting out as an Alpha along the lines of the second one. I'm still using it every day as a kitchen knife and loving it. In the future I'm going to do some in 3/32 CPM154 for a really thin kitchen blade.

The Curves are kind of an odd ball. It seems like they just don't sell well but I'll continue to make them now and then. I don't have any in process at the moment but I'm sure I'll get around to them. They're not something I do randomly since they require a wider piece of steel to do right and I usually only have 1.5" and 1".

I agree, with the economy what it is the majority of the folks spending real money on knives seem to be a bit more picky about who's knives they buy. I'm just a no name new guy still and I'm asking a fair bit for this guy. If it was stainless or a more exotic steel it would probably sell more easily. No worries either way, it will sell eventually or I'll finally give in and start carrying it myself.
 
Thank's for the Info. Remy, I'll be keeping my Eye out for the Isle Royale Alpha In CPM 154 and for any Curves you might make In the Future.
 
I went for a V2 Isle Royale Alpha from that last piece of ATS34. I think that made more sense than another Lycaon since I already had those covered and neither of the Alphas in the batch were the V2 style. My next batch of CPM154 will definitely include a few though.
