Isn’t it to early?

Love that bugout! I’ve been pining After a PM2 for years but haven’t pulled the trigger. Yea, I’m about 5 miles from SMKW, very dangerous but luckily I hate the crowd so I rarely go. A few years back they rubbed me the wrong way. Online prices for spydercos were about 15-20% less than in store so I started going every week or so to get a new one but would ask for the online price. After the 3rd-4th purchase a manager/supervisor told me that I was welcomed back but they wouldn’t honor the online price for me because I was abusing it.
I could see if they want to keep the brick and mortar separate from the online, but then they would save on shipping so they should have given you the cheaper price and kept you happy.

There's no way I'd be able to predict a knife I'd be interested in 9 months from now, unless it was a custom piece way outside the price range my wife would be comfortable spending. I buy, sell, and trade way too much to settle on something in the distant future. By the time Christmas comes around I'd likely have entirely different preferences.

No more abusive than ordering 3 or 4 knives from their website at the discount price. Perhaps they’re padding their shipping/handling fees? So that the online buyers end up paying the store price or higher anyway.

Some years ago I needed 1/2” stainless allthread to fabricate a job. Nobody in this county stocked it, except one industrial supply house, known for their exorbitant pricing. I went in there expecting to get screwed, and they sure didn’t disappoint me.

High school kid behind the counter, I ask if they have any, they do - in 3’ and 6’ sticks. 3’, I say, and the kid says, 31 bucks and change, then walks out from the counter 2 steps to the metal rack. Takes him over 5 minutes of reading tags to pick up the right one. I’m thinking, Dang! Good thing I don’t need 30’

Anyway, he rings up my sale and tells me the total: 37.50. I say “Can you check that again? 31 bucks plus 8% sales tax should be a little less.” He says, “There’s a 10% handling fee.”

I just shook my head, paid, and have never been back since. Hell will freeze over…
