Isn't it Friday?

Using up some of my scrap handle material on some 3-finger knives I forged the other day. Hunting through the shop for that perfect piece of antler I stuck somewhere (got a 14" bowie wanting a big handle).
Still trying to shake a nasty cold that just won't clear up. Wife's worse than mine. We'll be sleeping when the new year arrives. Can't seem to stay up late when I take cold meds. Good night all!

That a Custom Shop, Larry? What color, and neck? I assume maple. Did the '52 have a lipstick tube?

Fitzo, here is the link to Fender site.

http://www.fender.com/products/search.php?partno=0100202

My guitar is just like the one in this link, color, etc. Back in the early 70's I had a blonde Tele with maple neck & fretboard which I got ride of around 75 for a custom made guitar, and I had been bumming ever since I got ride of it, that's a long time bumming :( , but I'm a happy camper now :D

DanElectro actually used lipstick cases for pickup construction

As my wife bought this for me (I picked it out), I have to play this exclusively for quite a while. Linda, my wife, also bought me a Strat Plus for my 40th birthday (quite a while ago).

That's a pretty guitar, Larry! One of the icons of electric guitars.

I had almost managed to forget about Dan Electros, and you had to go and mention them again! LOL. That was such a cheesy piece when they made them originally, I was utterly amazed that they reissued 'em to such fanfare. Go figure. Nothing like a masonite body with a nice piece of vinyl wrapping the sides. But, then, Teisco's are considered collectable too. :jerkit: :D

Have fun with your new guitar!

Fitzo,

That's funny, cause my dad bought me my first electric in 1964  , and it was a Teisco, wish I still had it :grumpy: .

Leatherbird,

My custom is made by a guy in Wickford, RI, his name is John Judge, he started making guitars for Guild, who at the time was also out of RI. John no longer makes instruments. The guitar is shaped like a Les Paul Jr. with the same neck design as a LP, such as neck radius, # of frets, scale length, etc. She's a beauty, I've had her since 78 :D .

My first guitar was a Harmony archtop acoustic, with faux tiger maple paintjob! Probably about the same time as your Teisco. My first electric was a red National with a short scale, a whole lot of knobs, and possibly some of the best action I've ever had on a guitar. I paid $15 for it. I also had a Silvertone hollow-body bass which was for my garage band "gig".

I made the mistake of gifting the National to a juvenile delinquent cousin, thinking it might occupy him from other things. Little basturd traded the guitar for a half bag of pot. :( Probably wasn't very good smoke, either. That guitar's worth $500 or more today...

Now, all we need is someone who owned one of those mother-of-toilet seat Eko's. :D

I was a procurement forester for four years (early '70's) down there in the low country (out of Walterboro). Learned to speak geechee pretty good. Developed a real hate for ticks and leeches. Hunting and fishing was great!

Yeah, I left there for high ground and never went back. Wife is from Kansas and she will not go back, even for a visit. Didn't leave anything there I need to go back for either. Lot's of good people down there though.

Guess I'll stay up on the dry ground.
