Isn't the Scott Cook Lochsa the most beautiful knife?

After looking for a custom to add to my meager collection of production folders (gent's folders for the most part), I've found the custom that meets all my criteria!

The Scott Cook Lochsa is by far the most beautiful, albeit functional knife I've laid eyes on.

Not that I own one or anything, but I just gotta get one of these babies! Above photos courtesy of scottcookknives.com. If anyone owns one of these, I'd love to see additional photos, hear your thoughts, experiences, etc.

I emailed Scott this month to inquire about a small version. He indicated that a small is in the works, but no timeframes were known. It'll be the same design with a sub 3" blade (a hair under 3").

I love this knife. Talk about longing for the unatainable, Scott also mentioned that he's currently backordered on the large for about a year. So in the meantime, I'll need to see lots of photos and read reviews to get my fix :)

I have one of these and it is a great EDC knife. It is buttery smooth and locks up like a vault. If you can wait a year, I would. If not, do like I did and trade a .45ACP for one. Sorry I don't have any pictures but if I get some time I can take some and email them to you.

Wow, that thing is gorgeous! I've never seen anything like that handle. You guys have to quit doing this, I have pistol and bike payments to make.

Isn't that the truth. Made from a solid piece of titanium, you are right, I've never seen anything like it either. That's why I *HAVE* to get one!!!

It clearly pays tribute the the CRK Sebenza, but IMHO, takes it to the next level.

If you think that looks good, Scott also makes the Lochsa with the sides of the handle polished and the "trim" bead blasted, instead of the other way around. Here's a one from his website, done that way, with a damascus blade:

You can avoid the year wait by purchasing a Lochsa from Scott at one of the shows he attends, like I did at Blade last year. :D

Or do like I did and order one from a dealer ;)

...talk about green with envy. I'm happy for you, but still jealous as hell

Thanks, I'll take plenty of pics :p

While I its good to see your enthusiasm patrickb, fact it, I see THE most beautiful knife about every month or so - and I buy it!:(

Man, do those bills mount up.

The Lochsa has a particularly nice handle shape. I am not too fond of the beadblast, I wish those Idaho guys (Scott, Chris Reeve and Grant Hawk) would upgrade their blasting media. If you want to know what I am talking about, pick up a knife by Kit Carson or Tom Mayo - the blasting job makes a really big difference both in appearance, and in the amount of wear it takes to scuff a titanium surface.

LOL :) Funny stuff. I know exactly what you mean. I suppose I'm lucky that there's a wait for the Lochsa or my wife would be filing for divorce right about now :) As it stands, I'm going to have to hide the WH Monarch I received today for a few weeks/months. By then it'll blend in with the other carbon fiber handled knives. I just have to be sure not to let her see them all together.

The Lochsa is not just a great design but a wonder of construction as well, truely the next step in the evolution of the integral lock folder. Pictured here below Mike Obenauf's Large Model 2 Frame-Lock Prototype and a Ken Onion Mid-Tech Boa is Lochsa #3 from Scott Cook.

I picked up a TNT from Mr. Mayo at the 2002 Blade Show and it's seen a lot of carry since then. There's a scuff on the clip, but other than that, the handle slabs are virtually unmarked.

I think it's an amazing design.
I'm sooooo glad i got on the list for one back in June :)

What's the timeframe for delivery if you ordered in June?

Patrick, last week Scott told me that the wait is up to 12-16 months. Since he doesn't require a deposit, you may as well put your name down!

Well, I wouldn't say the Lochsa is THE most beautiful, but it certainly is up there amongst them. :)

I plan on picking one up someday.
