Greetings! Just joined, and am relatively new to EDC knives, steels, etc so go easy on me. So far, I have purchased a handful of knives and my current favorite is the Kershaw Blur. However like all of you Im sure, Im always looking for THE knife. Looking for your recommendations and here are my parameters:

1. Made in USA
2. 8" or so in length. (And yes, thats what she said)
3. $150 or less
4. I dont think I want assisted, I think a really smooth bearing or washer system (relative to my price point of course)
5. NOT 8cr14MOV, I THINK 154cm, s30v, VG10, s35v (or suggestions)
6. Hollow grind
7. Spear point, drop point, NO tantos
8. Available with OD green scales. (Not a deal breaker, but thats what I like)
9. No titanium scales I dont think? Dont have one , but they seem heavy and slippery
10. Probably finger or thumb stud, not a big fan of thumb discs

Any input you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

Perhaps a Buck Marksman? My personal choice, except for the hollow grind part, would be a Kershaw JYD II.

Thanks! I was just looking at the Marksman and the reviewer (Kevin Cleary) pointed out that the spine of the blade isn't tapered down to the tip? If you have one, is this a drawback to you? I'll check into the Kershaw.

Welcome to BFs 51 Bravo.

Benchmade Griptilian comes in OD green scales and meets all your criteria except the blade shape.

The biggest limiting factor is the od green scales at your price point after a quick glance.

Have you considered a Spyderco Paramilitary 2? It meets quite a few of your wishes(though not all of them.)
Sounds like you may want something that can flick the blade out, not necessarily a "flipper" which is a term usually reserved for a knife with a specific style of deployment.

A Spydie PM 2 can be flicked. https://youtu.be/i3mca2vmYEc

Thanks! I had somewhat written off Spyderco only because of the finger hole, but not really from any practical experience. I know they are great knives.

Lockback knives tend to be harder to flick than most other locking mechanisms, so if flickability is a big deal for you, you may want to shy away from those models regardless of brand. Thought that might be useful info for you since Spyderco has a lot of lockbacks.
