Issue with my para 3

Please do not take this the wrong way, but I would like to know something. Is it sticking when you are opening the knife and again when closing it? If so, it is the detent catching on the blade. It is supposed to do that as that is what keeps the knife closed.
Couldn't tell you now because I fixed it.

Sounds like you were running it dry, esp since you said it's fine since you lubed it.

What!?!?! This is crazy. I always thought Cabela's was a reputable company. I hope you reported this to them and to Spyderco. This should never happen if they're buying from Spyderco directly or from an authorized distributor.

I do my best to buy locally and tried to Cabela's since it's fairly close. Display case for knives was tiny, out of stock on almost everything, and 2 deep with people peering into the case like it had a two-headed unicorn. After 5 mins or so waiting for people to budge I left. Now seems like this was fortunate.
Yeah I have seen pics of fakes at Cabela's but from what I have seen at mine we have no fakes. I also had a gift card for Cabelas so thats why I bought it from them.

Mine does this on and off, also had lock stick. I'll add some lube and it'll work for a few weeks then crap again. Initially had to loosen the pivot a smidge. I suspect disassembly will fix it but haven't bothered trying yet, due to lazyness.
For me the lube fixed the stickyness and the lock stick. I would say it is worth it to just disassemble it. It is really easy to take apart and put the para 3 back together.

Occurred to me that people could be buying genuine Spyderco's and returning fakes. So it may not be a supply chain issue (although seems like it was in your 2014 post). IWould hope the knife counter would be able to tell the difference, but maybe not for a good fake.
