As some of you that might have seen some of my past posts may know I have been trying to sell my Fox 599 Karambit, eBay emailed me letting me know that my item had been removed because it was labeled as a counterfeit by someone who works for Fox cutlery.

Now I know from several years of experience with knives that this is in fact a real knife, the G-10 feels rough and it has actually damaged my pocket from carrying the knife daily, there is an Emerson patent number on it and I've sharpened it a couple times, and that's for sure N690C steel because of how hard it was to sharpen it when it was dull.

I emailed the guy from Fox cutlery to ask him what from the pictures makes him think the knife is a fake. Still no reply!

Sorry for the rant I just feel outraged and don't know what to do. I feel like Fox Cutlery has completely screwed me over.

Has anyone else ever dealt with this sort of thing? What would you do?

Sounds more like an idiot employee. For every few people that mindlessly believe everything is real, there is a person that thinks everything is fake. Honestly, you could just get a cheap basic membership here ($10) and trade it to a knife you might like more. I would never suggest selling on EBay.

It could be part of their business plan - to report every fox item on the website as a counterfit. If not, it would be interesting to see the photos you had posted.

I posted a couple besides these but they don't show you anything besides minor scuff marks on the blade that I would have liked the buyer to know about before they purchased it.

I have an account on here, but my ebay account has been more successful in selling knives than this one. I'm trying to trade it for an Emerson Combat Karambit, but no one seems to want to buy it on here. I had a few people interested on the ebay listing before it got taken down...

The fake fox karambit has a rounded over less pronounced wave. Your's is OBIOUSLY real from the photo! And I'm just another fox karambit owner. The employee should have been able to tell. That's bullshit. I'd find the highest up fox employee you can and email them a link to this thread and see if maybe they want to take you serious to avoid the bad publicity.

First, I've been both a seller (power) and buyer on Ebay since 2002, and I am also very familiar with the Fox 599, I owned one last year.
I have seen at least a dozen sold over the last 12 months without seeing any on them canceled by EBay.
If you persanally have any doubt's as to authenticity of your 599, why not contact the dealer you purchased it from.

Reading what you stated as well as viewing the photos you posted, that is a real 599.
I know the printing on the box as it comes from Italy, I personally feel the so called "employee" is not one at all, but most likely someone that perhaps you either may have blocked from bidding, maybe you previously canceled their bid or for what ever other reason/s obviously do not like that you have it up for sale.
Do not waste your time "writing" to EBay, what you must do is call on the phone and ask to be connected to the "Trust And Safety Department" once connected ask to speak to a supervisor, then state your issue and that you believe the person that claimed to be a Fox employee is in fact someone pretending to be from Fox, when in fact you believe they are not.
You will never get a response to this type of issue by email.... You must call them and specifically ask for the "trust and safety dept."
Someone unfortunately has it out for you, though I highly doubt it's anyone from Fox.

This guy's emails is @FoxCutlery.com

This is why I believe him to be an a**hole employee not just some p*ssed of buyer. I will take your advice and call either way. Thanks!

Let me see if I understand you correctly, as often in blogs and forums text can be misunderstood.
You mentioned that you 'wrote to Fox, but received no reply'... did a Fox representative actually email you, as your orig. post says Ebay emailed you, doesn't mention Fox did.
If a Fox rep. emailed you it must have been from within the Ebay in house message system, as Ebay does not disclose sellers personal email address's.

If in fact a legitimate representative from Fox contacted you and did not state their name/title within the Fox company, that would be questionable to me as to the legitimacy of the person actually being with/from Fox.

Do you know if the email communication you said you received from the so called Fox employee was from Fox Italy, the Fox USA dealership, or... "that other site" where that "one person" claims his web site is the only site in the U.S. allowed to distribute the Fox 599 model?

Again, my personal suggestion is do not waste your time contacting Fox, the issue and question is with and for Ebay.
"Trust and Safety" is the Ebay department to contact via "telephone only" writing to Ebay is a waste of time energy.
As I also previously mentioned, I have seen at least a dozen 599's sold on Ebay over the last 12 months, I sold my own 599 last year, all with no cancellations.

Another person suggested that "perhaps It could be part of their (Fox's) business plan - to report every fox item on the website as a counterfeit.".
Absolutely not in this case.
A seller has the right to sell a pre-owned a.k.a. used, or new never used legitimate legal item (non counterfeit), no matter the brand, whether it's an article of clothing, a chefs knife or in this case a Fox 599.
