Issues with copper liners on a folder?

So, I bought some copper to make a liner for my next folder customization, but I am hesitant for a few reasons.

Does anyone know if there are issues with using copper for liners? Is the steel from the blade going to wear at the copper? Will corrosion or patina develop and cause issues?

I have used copper for some mosaic pins, but that is about the extent of my knowledge and experience with it. I would love to use it as I really think it would complement mammoth ivory or burl scales. Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks!

This is not something I have any experience with but I would think copper would wear quickly unless you used washers. Also don't think it would stay copper colored for long.

Most use brass, stainless, or Titanium for liners. Copper would not be one of my choices.

Those are basically my concerns. I think I will avoid it for now...

Hmm, maybe it would be a better idea to use titanium and anodize it to a bronze/copper color. I'll let you guys know how it turns out.

Copper can be very pretty on a knife.

It also happens to remarkably soft and mushy. I wouldn't use it for anything requiring strength or stability.

Soft, and the most reactive of the metals available- most likely to corrode...should probably say "unwanted patina."
Bronze is much more stable if you can get it in the right thickness, and has almost the same color.
That said, yeah- it's really lovely stuff!
