To continue my previous "First ever" post:
I receive the 15"Ak and the 18"GS.
I'll just skip over the raided sock drawers and piggybanks part, wasn't pretty; spousal type- "A knife is a knife. Why would you need more than a swiss army knife?", forgotten as I opened box anyway.
It's beyond my ability to describe the feelings holding them for the first time. There is a profundity that goes beyond words anyway.
Back to my experience, First Khuk owner kinda stuff = can't put em down longer'n a couple minuites before picking 'em up again, wander around house khuks in hand, slash at air, maybe chop some air,
repeat, take to dinner/sneak peaks under the table and so on. Will assume this is normal behavior for the afflicted despite daughters comments to the contrary.
Son and I happily traded back and forth admiring each. Good thing there were two ......!
That was the first night.
The next day they were GONE! Not in the house anywhere.
Tracked AK down out back. Husband, upon seeing me clutches AK to his chest-unsheathed yells out "Mine! It speaks to me! I could build a house with this thing! Thanks!"
I was just hoping the khuks would be pretty enough that I wouldn't get too much grief. Didn't see that coming. This HIKV works in mysterious ways.
I can live with that, it was a bit top heavy for me anyway.
15" AK heavy?! Okay I'm the shrimp in asian family that's very, very, petite, under 5', 91 lbs. GS looks like a sword on me.
First clue to whereabouts of My Gelbu; piles of brush, bit of kindling 3 saplings 3"-3 1/2"dia. And son coming out of the woods with another. His words "It's beyond imaging. Cuts like butter and doesn't hurt your hand chopping. It really wants to work Mom!"
Won't get into how gelbu spoke to him.
Judging by the piles they work quite well together.
Did I mention I had two brand new Khukuris? (For a night!)
Field report:
They seem to have a heck of a lot to say!
Brighter side:
They got to sleep sometime.
Moms can be very patient!
