I recently got the new H1 Ladybug Hawkbill and the first thing that I noticed was the serrations were high finished but were sharp enough to be a butter knife.Disappointing

So It just sat in my drawer for weeks until I felt like it would serve me better in a plain edged. So out came my Gatco sharpener knife clamp and Dmt aligner with the curved and serrated diamond hones to the rescue.

Mine tore through the USPS box that it was shipped in. You have a very unique knife now. Thx for the pics.

Thanks everyone for their kind comments,I'm proud to say it's mine.

I actually can't remember how long the whole thing took but every serration took about a couple or a few minute to remove in a file like manner. If this an indication of what H1 steel is,is that it is not a particularly tough or hard at all.On top of that, while removing the serration,I tried to keep the same bevel as the original as to not remove more than necessary and also creating a nice curved edge.In total, it probably took around 45 minutes and at the present moment is a chisel ground.I think I'm going to make it V grind like the plain edge Tasman.

I gotta say I love the new design changes that all the rivets are replaced with torx head screws.Hope in the future that this knife comes in plain edge.
