It bit me!!! (Ode to Old Hickory)

Need I say...all the more reason to carry a FOLDING knife...unless you enjoy the risque, as it were.

It sounds to me like you have finally folded and sprung for a real knife. Are you going to carry and use it, or are you going to mount it on the wall? Please don't tell me you've attached a pocket clip and thumbstud! We can teach you how to carry it the right way if you want, and Paul can make you one of those "Indiana Jones" over the shoulder sheaths. It makes for a very impressive draw when you want to "whoop it out" to impress the ladies!

Codger,
Thank you for your concern for my new knife. I was thinking about installing a Bandit on it but, I do believe I may carry it in my pocket just as is...so at least it will still be a pocketknife.

I didn't mean to hijack your thread...I hope everything heals
well.

P.S.
Besides my Schrade 34OT, one of my current pocketknives is pictured below. My new knife looks a "LITTLE" like this one.

Bill, I am glad to see you come out of the closet finally. But I am a bit concerned about what we call a "Jim Bowie" fixation. You must have enormous pockets to carry those. And suspenders. Don't expect LT to dig out the Sandbar or Alamo Bowies for show and tell. Folks have tried that here for years to no avail.

Thread hijacking is unknown here. I prefer to think of it as "thread evolution". And your revealing your true collector interest is a worthwhile addition to this thread. Hopefully now that you have told us of your true passion, you will share your collection of fixed blade bowies with us. Do you have one of the Colt Bowies yet? I like those.

Easiest pic post on the cheap is to buy a disposable camera at Walmart and have the pics put online for retrieval. Or you can scan prints and post them.

Welcome to the Schrade Fixed Blade Collectors Bill!!!

In a stroke of incredible luck, I just received an electronic present from someone whom I believe might be THE Canadian Kris Kringle...

This is the only known picture of the "D'holder UNFOLDER".......it is one of 7 he made, thus the "Magnificent Seven" reference. It is not a Schrade, but D is, of course, held in great regard for his collaborations with Schrade, and Codger brought it up in his thread...so I'll post the picture here, hoping it's OK. It's a little hazy I know, but it's because the little guy is so doggone fast!

William (on a FIXED path...for a moment)

Here is an old Hickory I picked up in Vegas in a little antique shop. It is kind of interesting in that it seems to be some kind of commerative. I do not know much about these but I thought it a bit different. LT

Oh sure, anything to jerk this thread back on topic.

You should be a Moderator. :D

P. S.
Vegas...Vegas?? What were you doing in Las Vegas? I know, I know...what happens there...stays there. Knife shopping probably. :)

Yes I am particularly known for staying on subject and not ranting. What stayed there was my money. Which reminds me of my favorite Elvis songs VIVA LOST WAGES, VIVA VIVA LOST WAGES. LT
