My new kmg variable speed grinder with the flat platen and 10 inch wheel came in today. I will probably set it up this weekend. The packing of the grinder is top notch. The grinder came in one box with a plywood shell. I can't wait to get this thing up and running. Any suggestions on a bench I can make for it? I was thinking of using 1.5 by 1/4 thick angle iron to make a table for it.

Congrats on the new grinder, you're going to love it. You might consider square tubing in the 3'' range perhaps. Maybe the angle iron for the lower and upper supports. This will be heavier and easier to fit leveling casters. Steel top or maybe butcher block. If your stuck having to use angle I'd go bigger 1 1/2'' is a little small IMHO. Good Luck Lu.

I'd make a frame like mine and one piece of 3/4" plywood, or two pieces even laminated together for the top. You could use 2x6 or 2x8 for the top, but I always have problems getting the top completely flat when I do that.
