It finally happened I lost a large Insingo.
I normally don’t carry it if I’m in the woods at my house but that’s probably where it got dropped. Unfortunately it’s 42 acres of extremely dense wooded property.
I’ve always worried about the pocket clip not being heavy duty enough for the weight of that knife. Does anyone have some thing aftermarket with more tension ?
There’s a local shop here that I may be able to score a new one today and I don’t wanna have the same thing happen I’ve looked in every nook and cranny at least four times. I walked every inch of my trails.
I’m borrowing a friends metal detector in hopes of finding it. Its sentimental deal not so much the money. We had a house fire several years ago that was a complete loss and this is one of the few things that survived since it was in my pocket.
Anyway if someone knows of a better pocket clip option it would be appreciated. This wasn’t the first time I’ve had it start to come out of my pocket just the only time it actually did.

Dude that sucks, and I'm sorry to hear it. I have a lynch clip on one of my sebenza's, and that is EXTREMELY secure. It's got a nice rounded contact point, so I don't believe it will eat up my pants pockets. But the amount of force requireed to remove my sebenza with the lynch is much much greater than the stock. It comes at a price, but it's peace of mind, deep carry, and looks good on the knife.

Oh man! Terrible!!
I had the clip on my Sebenza catch on a bag that was being lifted into my truck. The knife went with it. I found it within the hour but panic set in when I realized it wasn’t in my pocket.
I have an MXG Gear, milled clip on my Inkosi. It has excellent retention and looks great IMO.
Kinda of a shît pic but you get the idea…422323C8-ED31-4BEE-89BD-493E4988607B.jpeg

I’m sorry to hear that, I hope you find it. Metal detector is great. I also recommend going outside with a very bright flashlight at night and walk where you brushed up on things or had to step up, if you did.
I had the same issue with mine. My pocket clip lost tension. I swore off the CRK clip but bent it back and haven’t had an issue. I’m by no means recommending to bend the clip and trust it if you find it, but check the tension. It should take a fair amount of pressure to pull it away.

Rent or borrow a good metal detector. I once lost my wedding ring and found it within an hour,

I tighten all my CRK clips. I get pretty good retention. Don't think I've ever had one accidently push up even past the first pressure point.

Thanks for the recommendation on the clip.
I never made over to buy a new one. I looked online and should have known stock is limited.
I really don’t care for the inlays etc. I just like the plain old ti slabs

I’ll borrow one, but I’m not 100% sure if I dropped it at home.
I work on a lot of construction development sites and there is a good chance it could have been dropped in one of those.

Ouch, good luck finding it Sir. A good friend of mine stuck his Sebenza in a log during a trip/stop in the Ozarks. Once he realized it he had reached a point of no return. Someone scored thats for sure.

That sucks! Sorry to hear it. I often holster carry knives, although I recognize that most people prefer pocket carry. Perhaps you might consider holster carrying your knife while in the woods? It's far better for retention. I had this holster made specifically for outdoor and woodland activities. The horizontal band wraps around the rig and pins down the vertical flaps. It's virtually impossible for this to snag or otherwise open unintentionally. I have other, more discreet holsters for urban edc.

PJ sebenzas are extremely hard to come by these days. Your best chance of getting one is signing up for notifications anywhere allowed, and tying it to an email that allows instant notifications, like outlook. That’s how I scored a new umnumzaan.

The flashlight deal was the first thing I did.
I may find it with a metal detector but its most likely lost.
My property is pretty think brush with lots of hardwood leaves on the ground. It’s 42 acres and I have about 5 miles of crisscrossed trails that wind around. I’ll live but my OCD will have me searching for years

Think smaller.. Car, seat belt snag, chair, couch, bathroom (mine fell out there one time) .. Etc,,, they usually show up in surprising places, Get in a dark room shut your eyes concentrate on the last time you know you had it, and the last time you used it.....

I used to get clips hung up all the time. I remembered WAYYYYY back when I started carrying a full size folder (Buck 110 in the late 70's/early 80's) and had to put in a belt sheath. That was pretty secure but a BIG hunk of metal on the belt. When I couldn't get away with a belt sheath, I just put it in my front pocket (are you happy to see me or...). I guess I got used to front pocket carry, took the clip off and put the insert in the clip cutout. Not as quick to get to, but I don't have seatbelts (really rough for left handers) trying to lift it out, not scratching furniture, doorways, walls, etc.

I find the stock crk to be very effective in pocket retention, at least with ordinary jeans pockets . The two points of retention work as designed in my experience.
I lost a large micarta 21 a while back. But I'm pretty sure it was stolen while I was at work. It's definitely a bummer
