Over a year of build g this thing. Last 2 wheels came in today from OBM. Thanks to the people that helped. Mainly kuraki, couldn't have done this without you man.
It sounds like the belt is Rubing on the platen a but. Should I adjust or leave it be? I have a vsm 60 on there now.

not sure what you mean by it rubbing on the platen. The platen should be touching the belt with NO space between the back of the belt and the platen. You can break the top edge of the platen a bit to ease the transition, but I wouldn't go crazy with it. Just chamfer the corner a bit.

Ok mine has a slight gap. Maybe an 1/8 but probably closer to 1/16. It just made a scraping sound as it was going along the platen so it had me concerned

You might be rubbing one of the bolt heads holding the motor on. Check that.
One was removed it and still making that scratchy sound. I can hear it coming from the platen. Could just be me being worried about nothing lol

Tin.man I completely agree! Great guys for sure

hmmm. I thought it might be it rubbing the edge on a bolt head as well. The noise my belt makes on my platen is really more of a mid to high pitched hum. kind of like moving your hands down corduroy. It's almost like a white noise generator if you've ever heard one of those.

After watching a couple YouTube videos my grinder sounds just like everyone else. So we're good. Time to grind some steel. It's nice to have a REAL grinder. Now just need a drill press and bandsaw

I actually have a good amount of pressure on my platten. I want the belt as flat as can be. I will see if I can snag a side profile picture for you. BRB

If you have the OBM wheels on the platen. Be sure not to over tighten them. It will destroy the bearings in a heart beat. Yes, I know.....
