It looks like I got ripped off

Paid for a knife a week ago and have had no communication since. I've tried email and DM but no luck.

Not much to add really. My mistake was using PPFF. I am used to using r/knife_swap (100 swaps) which seems to be safer. I wasn't really able to find a moderator here to file any kind.

Did the seller contact you via email? Looks like he hasn't been logged on here since the 8th and you posted in the thread on the 10th.

They did contact me via email, on the 11th. My bad, I'll just have to chalk this up to an expensive lesson.
And thanks for the heads up on my email, I think I fixed it.

Interesting, any particular reason you say that?
Because so many of the threads in this subforum are about people getting ripped off by "man in the middle" scams. That's why there's a warning in the Best Practices link at the top of the page.

You are right, and I ignored that warning so that is on me. I need to get smarter or just stay on the Swap.

If it wasn't (name removed) who scammed you, then it would be good to change the title of this thread. Or ask a moderator to do it (I don't know if we still have the ability to change thread titles).

It's not safer if you respond to emails instead of direct messages. It's just as easy to get ripped off on knife_swap or any reddit forum.

I think it more productive if you post the specific thread, user name of the person that ripped you off, the PP email, etc. Those details would, at minimum, help other folks avoid the issue.
