It only takes a second to lose it all.

The first time I brought my wife up to PA to visit the folks(1994), I told her to keep a lookout for deer...dead or otherwise. In the 1 hour trip up 81 (From Harrisburg to Hazleton), we counted 7 dead ones, and at least that many live ones on the fringes. In this state, a car is as good a hunting weapon as a rifle.(Albeit more expensive, and dangerous). Glad you're o.k.

Glad to hear you came through OK.

I am so glad you came out alive, much less unhurt TE but why didn't you just go a head and smack the deer instead of a tree?

Obviously you don't want to hit a tree but it's not always better to hit the deer either. There are several cases where a car hit a deer, the deer rolled up the hood and through the windshield and killed the driver. I suppose it's six of one half a dozen of the other....

Animals do have a tendency to end up where passengers and drivers sit when struck, trees on the other hand tend to fall over and do little damage to the driver other than the impact. Maybe we should get plows for you guys so that you just blow through the animal rather than cause undo damage to your vehicle or to the forest and other cars.

Cowcatchers!

Now that's a contented cow.

I got a Jeep Grand Cherokee for a rental Tuesday, on the way home two pigeons flew in front of the Jeep, I thought about swervin', then I remembered the deer and the Hyundai so I went straight and beeped the horn, ya know what happened?

Both birds stopped to see who beeped:eek:, they got run over, killed and no damage at all to the truck.

Why didn't I think of doin' that with the deer?:D
